The Young and the Restless Spoilers Wednesday, August 29: Rey’s Digging Rattles Victoria – Abby and Devon Spar – Phyllis’ Tight Spot

“The Young and the Restless” spoilers for Wednesday, August 29, tease that Phyllis (Gina Togoni) will be on the hot seat. At Crimson Lights, Sharon (Sharon Case) pushes for info on Summer’s (Hunter King) whereabouts. After Phyllis explains that Summer’s on vacay, the topic of Nick’s (Joshua Morrow) J.T. (Thad Luckinbill) impersonation comes up.

Phyllis notes that Nick told her what he’d done, so Sharon’s curious when he blabbed. As she works to hide the truth, Phyllis lies that she can’t recall. She certainly doesn’t want Sharon to know it happened the night she hooked up with Nick! The ladies bring the conversation back to spoiled Summer and the problems Sharon will inevitably have with Faith (Alyvia Alyn Lind) one day.

Over with Rey (Jordi Vilasuso), he spots Victoria (Amelia Heinle) and offers his name. Rey confesses that he’s seen Victoria online, so he’s already in the loop on who she is. Victoria makes her way over to Victor’s (Eric Braeden) table at the athletic club. He’s irritated since she’s late, but Victoria snaps right back.

Victor can tell that something’s bothering his daughter, but Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) ends up covering for her. She tells Victoria, who still refuses to accept any help with her issues. Victoria reconvenes with Victor, who gives her an apology and invites her to dinner. He intends to ask Abby (Melissa Ordway) to join them and hopefully create some family harmony again.

Across town, Devon (Bryton James) gets a visit from a determined Abby. She speaks up for Lily’s (Christel Khalil) sake and tries to help Devon see how much pain he’s going to cause. Pushing for the maximum sentence won’t change the fact that Hilary (Mishael Morgan) and her child are gone.

Devon insists on seeking justice, so Abby eventually takes off. Next, Nate (Brooks Darnell) appears for a chat. He reminds Devon that there are people besides Lily involved. Watching Charlie (Noah Alexander Gerry) and Mattie (Lexie Stevenson) suffer would be incredibly difficult. Plus, sending Lily to prison for 20 years just means one less person to help Devon through his grief.

Meanwhile, Abby meets up with Victor, Victoria and Nikki. After Victoria apologizes, Abby makes amends with her sister. Rey waltzes over and admits he’s Arturo’s (Jason Canela) brother. That leaves Victor with some questions. He pumps Rey for information on his job and why he came to Genoa City, so Rey suggests that he’s there for a financial services gig.

Nikki pulls Victoria aside to bicker about how she needs help. Naturally, Victoria’s adamant about not getting any. Their argument leaves Victor and Abby confused about what’s going on. Talk turns to Dark Horse and how well Abby’s doing there. Victor understands that Abby can’t provide any company secrets. He notes that a return to Newman is always a possibility.

Back at Crimson Lights, Sharon and Phyllis speak with Rey before Victoria and Nikki appear. It doesn’t take them long to realize the guy’s been mixing and mingling with all of them. Abby pops in briefly and points out that Rey was interested in the J.T. investigation. That sets off alarm bells for an already stressed Victoria. Once Abby’s gone, Victoria expresses her concern to the cover-up crew.

Nikki contends that Rey’s harmless, but Victoria’s truly worried. She believes Rey’s been trying to get to know them, which suggests he has a goal in mind. Over with Victor, he sees Devon moping and offers his condolences. After Devon brings Victor up to speed on Lily’s hearing, Vic passes along some advice. He thinks Lily made a heartbreaking mistake, but only Devon can determine if forgiveness is possible.

Finally, Abby has a conversation with Nate. She believes somebody out there can talk some sense into Devon, but Nate isn’t so sure. Will Devon back down in time or push for a harsh punishment instead?
