At the penthouse, Lily (Christel Khalil) expresses her guilt to Devon (Bryton James). As Shauna listens, Lily says she hates that was so nasty to Hilary (Mishael Morgan). She knows how much Hilary meant to Devon, so she’s sorry for not accepting that sooner.
Devon points out that Lily and Hilary found peace in the end. He thinks that’s what matters here. Over with Charlie (Noah Alexander Gerry), he gripes about all the secret-keeping. During a conversation with Cane (Daniel Goddard), Charlie gets upset over pushing Shauna to lie. He’s just uneasy about this whole mess.
Afterward, Devon approaches Hilary’s casket and gently places his hand on it. This is obviously a tough goodbye. Once the funeral concludes, all the main guests join Devon for the reception. They end up back at the penthouse to reflect on Hilary’s life and their loss. Devon, Jack (Peter Bergman), Shauna and Neil (Kristoff St. John) all speak about Hilary’s best qualities.
Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) also has something nice to say about her friend. When she’s done, Phyllis reveals that Hilary left behind a letter. It contains guidance for several people who were important to her. Once the note’s read and tears are cried, Mariah (Camryn Grimes) notices Mark’s in attendance. He’s the guy Hilary had that mysterious meeting with a while back.
Mariah eventually corners Mark for the real scoop. Devon walks over and hears about the rejected job offer. Hilary just wasn’t willing to put her family’s future at risk. At some point during the gathering, Nate faces some mild backlash from Devon. Despite Neil’s (Kristoff St. John) protest, Devon feels like Nate could’ve done something more for Hilary. She deserved extra time.
Billy (Jason Thompson) makes a call to confirm that something’s happening by the end of the week. He ultimately supports Phyllis at the reception, but she’s miffed when he bails early. Phyllis feels confident that Billy’s back to gambling.
Over with Shauna, her rage continues to grow. After Shauna gets upset with Charlie, Lily tries to smooth things over. Instead, she just makes matters worse. Shauna begins ranting about Lily and how she’s acting like it was an accident. She shouts that Lily ran the red light as everyone stares in shock.
