Sharon is OK with something less concrete. They agree to be friends with benefits, but something tells us Y&R has more in mind eventually. In the meantime, there are concerns among the Abbott clan. Dina (Marla Adams) isn’t having a good night mentally, so Ashley (Eileen Davidson) thinks they should skip the screening. Jack’s (Peter Bergman) about to cancel everything, but Dina insists her special night should move forward.
At the ranch, Neil (Kristoff St. John) talks to Victor about his recovery and some Newman publicity details. Afterward, they discuss Dina’s screening as well as the kid Devon (Bryton James) has on the way. During their chat about fathers and sons, Victor hints that Jack will never be John Abbott (Jerry Douglas).
At the athletic club, Billy (Jason Thompson) handles a business meeting. He’s annoyed with Kyle (Michael Mealor) for being late and reveals that he made the deal on his own. Nevertheless, Kyle insists he’ll to devote his full attention to the night ahead. He’s eager to be there for Dina’s celebration.
Later, Kyle joins the others and gets a gift from Jack. He receives John’s old cufflinks and looks worried as he considers this thoughtful gesture. Back at the club, Lily (Christel Khalil) and Cane (Daniel Goddard) are pleased with Charlie’s (Noah Alexander Gerry) knack for filmmaking. They’re looking forward to the big debut. Charlie’s a bit nervous, but hopes the event will go smoothly.
At the theater, the Abbotts gather along with Neil, Cane, Lily and Charlie. Jack gets the party started with a powerful speech, but he’s vexed when Victor appears. Despite Jack’s rant, Dina convinces him to let Victor stick around as her guest. After the film begins, it’s lovely until Dina pipes up about her affairs on screen. Victor smirks as Jack learns he’s not John’s son, so major drama’s about to go down.
