Mariah’s pleased that there aren’t any more secrets, but Sharon hints that may not be the case. She suggests that sometimes the truth has to come out, even if it’s painful. Meanwhile, Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) wonders how to shut down the threat. She tells Billy (Jason Thompson) that she needs dirt on Sharon, but he doesn’t think there’s any to find.
Victor (Eric Braeden) stops by Phyllis and Billy’s apartment later. He hopes Phyllis can put in a good word for him with Nick (Joshua Morrow). Victor points out that Christian could use the support of both his grandparents. Once he’s gone, Phyllis revisits the idea of holding something over Sharon. She wants to make a Victor-ish move, but Billy doesn’t think that’s the right strategy.
At the penthouse, Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) has some advice for Nick. She thinks he should move back to the tack house with Christian. Nikki makes a convincing argument, but Nick doesn’t get on board with the idea.
Back at Crimson Lights, Phyllis once again tries to keep Sharon’s mouth shut. She’s desperate to protect Nick’s heart. When Nick walks in to find them clashing, he asks what’s up. Phyllis does her best to keep Sharon quiet, but it doesn’t work. Sharon ultimately reveals that Christian is Adam’s (Justin Hartley) son, not Nick’s.
Across town, J.T. (Thad Luckinbell) gets some express mail at home. He’s stunned to learn Mac (Kelly Kruger) is filing for custody of the children. J.T. thinks Mac’s just bitter because he jumped right into a reunion with Victoria (Amelia Heinle). He refuses to give up without a fight.
At the athletic club, Billy runs into J.T. and unloads some of his own problems. He’s concerned about Phyllis going overboard on her latest mission. J.T. rants that Billy should just put a stop to it, but his macho response doesn’t go over well. Billy thinks J.T.’s way of handling it would mean acting like a jerk.
J.T. confesses that he’s dealing with custody drama, which prompts questions from Billy. He wonders about Mac’s reasons. Billy feels like J.T. must’ve done something to set Mac off. J.T. runs his mouth again before heading home.
Back at Victoria’s house, she chats with Reed (Tristan Lake Leabu) about J.T.’s situation. Reed hints that the move’s to be expected, but he doesn’t offer much of an explanation. Victoria leaves Mac a voicemail a little later. She wants to talk and hopefully reach a solution.
Once J.T. returns, he blows up at Victoria for sharing the custody issues with Reed. J.T. wants both Reed and Victoria to stay out of this. He doesn’t think Victoria should make choices like this on her own. Y&R viewers will see the tension rev up even more in the coming weeks.
