The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Trouble Looms For Mariah And Tessa – True Love Or A Con?

The Young and the Restless rumors indicate that Mariah (Camryn Grimes) is heading for heartache once again when it’s revealed that Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) is lying to her.

Mariah and Tessa or Teriah as they’re called by fans, are one of Y&R most talked about pairings. When the two women developed feelings for each other, fans were excited to see the storyline unfold for the pair. However, due to some backlash from viewers, the show broke up Mariah and Tessa.

Yet, it seemed like the writers had a change of heart when Mariah decided to give Tessa another chance. Viewers will remember that the reason their budding relationship ended the first time is because Tessa stole Mariah’s diary and used it as inspiration for her songwriting. After some time apart, Mariah found it in her heart to forgive Tessa and the two decided to give their relationship another shot.

But just as the two were becoming close, problems arose. Tessa left town to help her sister Crystal (Morgan Obenreder), who was in trouble. Mariah became worried when Tessa left town and her concern grew when she didn’t hear anything from her girlfriend. But Mariah’s fears were put to rest when Tessa safely returned to town.

However, trouble is still looming for the couple. Tessa revealed to Mariah that she needed money to help Crystal because bad guys were after her. Mariah offered to help Tessa and even went as far as getting her a job at the coffeehouse.

Tessa’s sudden reappearance and need for money has viewers wondering if the brunette songbird is conning Mariah out of money. When Tessa first appeared onscreen she was homeless and playing music to earn money until Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) took her in. Not much was known about Tessa’s past except her sister Crystal was part of a sex trafficking ring that Tessa and Mariah helped her escape from.

So is it possible that in the past Tessa was a scam artist who hustled people?

With rumors that Cait Fairbanks is leaving, this could be Y&R’s way of writing the character off the show. Having Tessa exposed as a con artist not only sets up her departure, but it will also lead to the end of her relationship with Mariah.

While Teriah fans will be upset by the revelation, it also leads to questions on what will become of Mariah once Tessa leaves.
