Victoria insists she can tell Paul (Doug Davidson) that she acted alone. She wants to claim that she killed J.T. (Thad Luckinbell) with the fireplace poker herself. Victoria plans to leave the rest of the gang out of it by claiming they went home first.
Phyllis pipes up that this story won’t fly. Paul would see all the problems with it and realize Victoria had help from the partygoers. Nikki agrees that Victoria should keep her mouth shut. She doesn’t want her daughter taking the blame for her own actions. Sharon surprises herself by supporting their original pact. She thinks it’s best to keep the secret and vows not to cause issues anymore.
Unfortunately, Victoria’s not convinced to drop her latest goal. At home, she writes a note explaining her decision to Victor (Eric Braeden) and Nikki. Victoria hopes they’ll understand why she needed to turn herself in. Phyllis fears they didn’t get through to Victoria, so she heads over to keep her on the right track. She manages to stop her confession with Nikki’s help.
Nikki proposes that it’d be good for Victoria to get away from Genoa City. Phyllis wants to lie about going to a convention together. She can keep an eye on Victoria and offer support. At Phyllis’ place, she tells Billy (Jason Thompson) about her trip and mentions that Victoria will be there as well.
Billy also spots Kyle (Michael Mealor) with Victor in Thursday’s episode. He grumbles about Kyle showing he can’t be trusted. Kyle ignores Billy’s criticism and continues his meeting with Vic. Once they’re alone, Kyle hints at a powerful weapon of destruction. He insists he could really crush Jack (Peter Bergman), so Victor wants the scoop.
