“The Young and the Restless” spoilers for Monday, October 29, tease that Ashley (Eileen Davidson) will stand her ground. At the Abbott mansion, she explains that she’s taking her patents and starting a company of her own. Ashley gripes about how the rest of the family is always in Jack’s (Peter Bergman) corner.
Jack counters that they needed his leadership for a reason. John (Jerry Douglas) pushed him to step up when they were younger. Jack also takes jabs at Ashley for not being loyal to Jabot. He insists that he’s provided the stability.
Abby (Melissa Ordway) doesn’t want her mom to go, but Ashley argues that Abby could come along. This could be a fresh start for them both. Abby doesn’t like the idea of uprooting her life, so she opts to stay behind.

Traci (Beth Maitland) assures Ashley of her love, but still thinks this is a massive mistake. She hates that her good intentions have driven Ashley to this. Ash also has a sweet moment with Dina (Marla Adams) before she leaves. She’s grateful to be liberated and embraces her mother.
Jack wants to debate all this again, but Ashley isn’t interested. She snaps that she has nothing to say to him and heads for the door. At the athletic club, Ashley fills Neil (Kristoff St. John) in over the phone. After she disconnects, Jack appears and apologizes for the blood-Abbott clause. He insists he’ll regret it forever and does his best to patch things up.
Jack suggests he was afraid Ashley would be more successful than him. He sees now that it was wrong to protect himself in that way. An emotional Ashley hugs her brother and expresses her gratitude. That was something she desperately needed to hear, but she’s still leaving. Ashley hops on a plane and heads for Paris. She sports a smile as she sips Champagne.

Back with Jack, he returns home and stares at the dark emptiness of the house. Across town, Sharon (Sharon Case) rejects Rey’s (Jordi Vilasuso) offer to drive her to work. She overreacts when he tries to help with a box later and that leads to some awkward tension.
Rey makes notes of Sharon’s anxiety and eventually mentions it. She claims she’s worried about how their friendship looks to others. Rey assumes Sharon’s really concerned about Nick (Joshua Morrow). She’s just hoping to set some boundaries as she moves forward, so we’ll see how that plan works out!
In the meantime, Cane (Daniel Goddard) tries to help the twins through a family crisis. They’re distraught over Lily’s (Christel Khalil) transfer, but he thinks they can handle this. Cane urges Mattie (Lexie Stevenson) and Charlie (Noah Alexander Gerry) to write letters to their mom.
Devon pays Sharon a visit and gets her to contact Lily’s case worker. Unfortunately, Lily doesn’t qualify for a halfway house. Sharon hates that she couldn’t find a way to help. Devon heads over to the Ashby home and reassures Cane about his marriage. He notes that Cane can borrow the jet and visit Lily anytime. Devon believes Cane and Lily’s relationship is strong enough to take this forced separation.
