“The Young and the Restless” spoilers for Monday, October 1, tease that Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) will just want to help. At Jabot, Phyllis argues that there must be a way to fix this. Billy (Jason Thompson) doesn’t think the stolen money can be replaced before he gets caught. He gets snappy with Phyllis, but ultimately softens. Billy refuses to let Phyllis pitch in on this and takes off for a meeting.
That leaves Phyllis to have a meeting of her own. She tells Jack (Peter Bergman) that Bill needs money to pay off his gambling debts. Phyllis suggests that Jack should give Billy $250,000. He’s hesitant, but Phyllis thinks John (Jerry Douglas) would help if he were still around. Jack eventually caves, which leads to a warm moment.
Billy returns and spots the “Phack” hug, so Phyllis explains the situation. Although Billy doesn’t want to take his brother’s money, Jack insists he shouldn’t let pride be an issue. Billy expresses his gratitude, but there’s a catch to this deal. Billy must agree to do a stint in rehab, so he goes along with Jack’s demand.

After facing more pressure from Kyle (Michael Mealor), Ashley announces that she’s calling a meeting. She wants to do a no-confidence vote and have Traci (Beth Maitland) step in as CEO. Before Traci gets updates, she stops by Walworth and visits Lily (Christel Khalil). Once Lily opens up about her guilt, Traci provides support and unloads a little Abbott drama.
Charlie (Noah Alexander Gerry) and Mattie (Lexie Stevenson) also drop by to see their mom. Things are still tough, but the teens want Lily to know they’re behind her. As for Traci, she learns Ashley’s moving forward with the CEO takeover. Traci’s unsure since she doesn’t want to embarrass Billy, but Ash thinks far worse embarrassment will come if they don’t act now.

In his office, Billy gets on his computer and freaks when he’s locked out of his accounts. That’s when Gloria (Judith Chapman) appears and mentions a board meeting. She admits Billy will be the focus of it. Soon after, the board members argue about Billy’s gambling addiction and how to handle this. Phyllis points out that Billy’s agreed to go to rehab after all. She doesn’t see any need to force him out.
Ashley, on the other hand, believes they have no choice. She reveals that Billy stole $500,000 from Jabot, so Kyle hands over the evidence. Jack’s stunned and wants Billy to deny it, but his brother knows the jig is up. Ashley insists that it’s time for a vote of no-confidence, so Billy’s downfall is finally here.
