The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Mal Young Reveals Why You MUST Watch Y&R In November

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that November sweeps will be one to remember, that is if you believe head writer/producer Mal Young. The British showrunner lets the soap opera fans know that great episodes are ahead in the coming weeks.

Standalone Episodes Coming

Mal Young said that many of the viewers want to see more special episodes focused on one storyline. CBS Soaps In Depth reported that in November he will bring more of these types of episodes, indicating he has something special planned for the JT’s (Thad Luckinbill) death storyline.

“We did the special one-off episode with the four women and J.T. I asked the writers to come with me on the journey to do an episode where it’s four women in the living room for 30 minutes, Mal explained. “I said, ‘We’re not going to go anywhere else. We might go out to the garden for a brief scene, but I want it to be like a stage play.’ Everyone looked at me like I’d lost it! Everyone was a little bit scared, but that’s good!”

Mal’s Goal

The Young and the Restless showrunner said that his ultimate goal is to have only two actors in every episode. He thinks he can make it happen as he has the production staff and actors to pull it off. Mal added that these standalone episodes would not be on every episode of the daytime drama, only a few per week

Young went on to say that the Y&R fans really like the special episodes and he believes that will increase the viewership. He thinks these are the moments the fans want to see—the moments they will talk about on social media.
