The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that Kyle (Michael Mealor) is jeopardizing his spot at Jabot through the current Vegas plot. Instead of forcing Billy (Jason Thompson) out, as expected, plans could easily boomerang on this upstart Abbott man.
Whether Kyle’s last name really is Abbot is an issue for a future feature. As of the moment, he’s attempting to press Billy’s gambling buttons via Sinead (Lira Kellerman). This attempt could fail epically, as Kyle’s schemes often involve impulse thinking and thin backup plans.
It’s possible that Kyle’s plot will fail in Vegas because of a wild card. Her name is Phyllis (Gina Tognoni). If Billy was playing in the tournament on his own he would be in deep danger of doing who knows what to meet his money rush. But having Phyllis with him provides a check against his own impulses and possibly, a balance as well.
P to S: You know what, little girl? You are not strong enough; you are not smart enough to play this game with me, and you’ve already proven that, clearly.
Tell her! And keep showing Summer that she is no match for her mama.

Phyllis hasn’t determined what Sinead’s underlying intention is. But she’s onto this unusual lady who Billy tagged as nothing more than a gambling buddy. Referring to Tognoni’s character as “Phil’ followed the nickname used for Billy, being Bill. Phyllis didn’t like the uninvited familiarity and rightly sensed a lack of respect.
Billy, or Phyllis could learn directly from Sinead what Kyle’s plan is, though she’d likely be forfeiting the second-half of her promised payout. Instead, it feels as though Phyllis will read Sinead’s cards and enlighten Billy before all goes south.
Jabot’s Chief Executive Officer won’t put himself in danger of being ousted by the Board of Directors even if he loses a ton of money at the Vegas mega-poker game as long as he isn’t using Jabot funds. While his claimed hobby isn’t ideal, it wouldn’t have compromised the family company directly.

Kyle has been counting on different cards being played. He’s calculated that Billy won’t be able to control his baser instincts and will tap into Jabot’s reserves in order to meet calls.
Ashley (Eileen Davidson) didn’t feel comfortable with Kyle’s plan. While she wants Billy out of the CEO’s chair, Ashley still exhibits protective instincts for her brother.
Mealor’s character was cut from Diane Jenkins’ (as last played by Maura West) cloth, along with that of his dad’s. Both genetic sources pump creative morality through Kyle’s blood, thus the Sinead-Vegas setup was conceived and established.

This soap secret won’t stay hidden for long. Billy will learn what Kyle was up to, which will put Jabot’s junior executive’s future in doubt. Yes, the Billy-bet faces seemingly bad odds.
