The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Kyle And Summer Drawn To Each Other – Romance To Come?

The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that Kyle (Michael Mealor) is being drawn back to Summer (Hunter King), even though he thinks he’s not. The power of sex appeal will prove too much for the bravado of Mealor’s sharply recast character. How this former couple handles their projected reunion could prove to be positive for each individual if Y&R’s writing staff aims for higher ground.

This year’s edition of Style is vastly different than when Summer and Lachlan Buchanan’s version was together. Sans the murderous drama that their characters were linked to in mid-decade, 2018’s duo is sporting emboldened attitudes.

Empowered is a word that is pushed on the masses by those who want other’s egos to supercharge. Strip away everything, as Summer and Kyle have their clothes in recent weeks and what’s left? Well, one’s narcissistic birthday suit. Yes, that was a play on words combining being in the buff and Jabot’s newest, likely overpriced fragrance that wears the same moniker.

Kyle was obviously spurned by Summer’s actions in the recent past, seemingly after both characters were written off the show. Buchanan’s version departed months before King left to join the cast of CBS’ nighttime show ‘Life in Pieces’.

King’s unexpected return in late spring has proven rather dramatic, as Summer was arrested, suggested an affair, or more, with her mother’s live-in, anti-Jack (Peter Bergman), boyfriend Billy (Jason Thompson), and is being openly defiant toward her mother, Phyllis (Gina Tognoni). Summer did all of the above in about two weeks.

As for Kyle, Summer wouldn’t mind getting back together with him. Unlike other guys, Kyle has opted to not be controlled by this still-immature young lady who is clearly used to yanking guy’s chains while pretending she’s a so-called empowered woman.

Women who are actually strong are easy to spot by anyone, including this scribe. They live responsible lives, own up to mistakes that are common among us humans, and are selfless, not self-centered. By the way, men exhibit identical qualities, thus reaffirming what equality actually is in a way sexists within each gender refuse to acknowledge because the timeless truth was and remains the enemy.

Summer and Kyle haven’t evolved. They’ve been influenced by all who push me-first agendas.

Hopefully, both characters are written up, rather than down by Y&R as time flows forward. King and Mealor are solid actors who deserve to play parts with depth, rather than evidence of fictional, one-dimensional personas.
