The Young and the Restless Spoilers Friday, August 17: Sneaky Rey Kicks Off His Mission – Sharon’s Stuns Abby, Conflict Erupts

“The Young and the Restless” spoilers for Friday, August 17, tease that Nick (Joshua Morrow) will want Summer (Hunter King) to cut to the chase. At Jabot, Nick wonders if his daughter’s going to accept his offer or not. Suddenly, Billy (Jason Thompson) appears and seems perplexed by their strange chat. Summer quickly explains that her dad’s providing some financial help and flashes the check around.

Billy notes that Nick’s check comes with a lot of zeros. However, Nick’s adamant that he’s putting his money to good use. Phyllis arrives later and gets updates from Billy. She realizes Nick has bribed Summer, so at least her secret’s safe for now. Afterward, Summer and Nick end up at The Dive Bar. She promises she won’t spill the sex secret, but Nick’s hurt that it took money to earn her silence.

At home, Phyllis is also disappointed in Summer’s actions. They argue, but ultimately agree to try and repair their damaged relationship. Of course, Summer’s lying through her teeth. She’s still got Billy on the brain, so don’t expect her to stop her mission.

After assuring Kyle that their bet’s still on, Summer finds Billy in his office. She mentions the kiss she planted and pushes him to see that he wants her. Billy isn’t interested, so he tells Summer they’re done and stomps off.

At Crimson Lights, Abby’s (Melissa Ordway) with Arturo (Jason Canela) when Sharon (Sharon Case) struts over. She asks Abby to be a bridesmaid, which brings suspicions. Abby doesn’t seem to think this is a genuine effort to make peace, so Sharon gets irritated. They bicker, but Arturo convinces Abby that she should be part of the festivities. Abby eventually apologizes and tells Sharon she’s in.

Back at The Dive Bar, Nick spots a man who introduces himself as Rey (Jordi Vilasuso). They both find themselves at the coffeehouse later, so Nick lets Rey meet Sharon. Rey says he’s in the market for a short-term rental nearby and takes off. It isn’t long until we see Rey examining an evidence board. J.T.’s (Thad Luckinbill) photo is surrounded by all the key suspects in his disappearance.

Over with Neil (Kristoff St. John) and Ashley (Eileen Davidson), they bond over some jazz and share a dance. Ashley comes home with Neil, so things take an even more romantic turn. Are these two ready to make a dating commitment?
