The Young and the Restless David Scott Lago Opens Up About His Y&R Comeback

The Young and the Restless star David Scott Lago is opening up about his return to Genoa City. The actor, who fans know best as Raul Guittierez, and Billy Abbott’s (Jason Thompson) childhood best friend, is excited to be reprising his role.

According to CBS Soaps in Depth, David says that when the producers of The Young and the Restless called to ask if he would consider coming back for a new storyline, he was nothing but delighted. He told the publication, “It was like getting a phone call from the past, a really nice phone call, too!”

David kept a very low profile until it was announced that he would be making his official comeback. And according to the actor, it wasn’t always easy trying to walk around the CBS wardrobe studio incognito. He explains, “I wore sunglasses and a hat and I was like, ‘ Who the hell is going to know?’ But it was super fun.”
Apparently, fans can expect to see a lot of changes in Raul – both physically and emotionally. After all, it has been almost 19 years since we last saw him in Genoa City.

David added, “I’m still filming something now and I had the beard for it. When I went in for the wardrobe fitting, I didn’t want to assume that I have to be cleanly shaven. We took pictures and sent it up to the producers and we got approval. I think they were cool with the fact it would show physical change. Raul’s not in high school anymore, he can grow a beard!”
