The Young and the Restless (Y&R) Spoilers Tuesday, January 2: Abby Panics as Nick Prepares to Blab – Billy Accepts Exciting Offer – Cane Gives JT a Job

“The Young and the Restless” spoilers Tuesday, January 2, tease that Jill (Jess Walton) and Cane (Daniel Goddard) will bicker about the New Year’s Eve scheme. At the Chancellor mansion, Cane notes that Jill tried to push him back together with Lily (Christel Khalil). Jill thinks it’s obvious that they want to reunite. She feels like going for a hug instead of a kiss was a missed opportunity.

Jill adds that she’s leaving town now, so she embraces Cane as they say goodbye. At the athletic club bar, J.T. (Thad Luckinbell) spots Billy (Jason Thompson) and suggests that he’s been a negative influence on Reed (Tristan Lake Leabu). Billy defends the role he’s played in Reed’s life lately. They continue to take jabs until Jill shows up. She has a proposition to make and it involves Chancellor.

Jill notes that Cane’s pretty busy these days. She thinks he could use Billy as his co-CEO. Jill tempts Billy by pointing out that it would really rub Cane the wrong way. Meanwhile, J.T. stops by to see Lily at home. They chat about their teens as well as their recent breakups. Talk turns to J.T.’s job hunt and Lily mentions that Cane might be able to help.

Back at the Chancellor mansion, Cane has a look of longing in his eyes as he holds Lily’s scarf. Lily shows up to see Cane later, but J.T. suggests she wanted to hook him up with a job. After Lily grabs her scarf and exits, Cane agrees to hire J.T. He notes that J.T. can also live at the mansion if he wants.

Suddenly, Billy walks in with the co-CEO announcement. Cane’s taken aback by the big news. At the penthouse, Chelsea (Melissa Ordway) advises Nick to stop worrying about Scott (Daniel Hall) and Abby’s (Melissa Ordway) kiss. Nick can’t shake it. He believes Sharon (Sharon Case) needs to know that Scott’s cheating. When pressured, Chelsea confesses that she’d want the truth in that situation.

Nick finds Abby at Crimson Lights and needles her in front of Sharon. He tries to get a reaction out of Abby by bringing up Scott. Nick glares at his sister while Sharon babbles on about her man. Once Sharon walks off, Nick grills Abby about trying to break up Scott and Sharon. Abby insists that her involvement with Scott is finished. She doesn’t want Nick to spill anything, but he feels he must.

However, Nick promises to keep his mouth shut about Abby being the other woman. He thinks he can let Sharon know Scott betrayed her without revealing anything more. After he’s gone, Abby phones Scott to offer a warning. She gets his voicemail and asks him to call her back.

Outside Sharon’s place, Nick struggles with what he’s about to do. He eventually gathers up his courage as Sharon answers the door. Nick explains that he’s there to talk to her about Scott. Once Nick makes his accusations on Wednesday, Sharon will face a flood of emotions.
