The Young and the Restless RECAP Thursday, July 19: Hilary In Critical Condition, Nate Races To Save Her and Baby

“The Young and the Restless” recap for Thursday, July 19, 2018 reveals that over at Devon Hamilton’s (Bryton James) place, the phone rings and Shauna Nelson (Camryn Hamm) is speaking on the answering machine telling Devon to call her when he gets home.

Over at Neil Winters’ (Kristoff St. John) place, he turns up his jazz music and does not hear his cellphone when Shauna Nelson calls him. Nate Hastings (Brooks Darnell) arrives and they debate on music until there is a knock at the door. Shauna is at the door in tears and tells Neil he needs to come to the hospital there has been a bad accident.

In the hospital, stretchers are wheeled into the ER.

Over at Dark Horse, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) wants the ladies to go home and think about his proposition. He wants to know by tonight who is on his team. Once Nick and Sharon McAvoy (Sharon Case) are alone she confronts him on lying to her. Nick points out she has lied to him before but promises he will not do it again.

At the Athletic Club, Cane Ashby (Daniel Goddard) tells Mattie Ashby (Lexie Stevenson) to call Lily Ashby (Christel Khalil) to see what she wants for dinner. He joins Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and let’s him know that Philip Chancellor is not Jack Abbott’s (Peter Bergman) father. Mattie tells Cane she didn’t get an answer when trying to call her mom. Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) joins Victor and he informs her that they lost another three contracts to a start up. Nikki tells him they lost them to Nick Newman’s new company the Dark Horse.

Neil Winters and Nate Hastings arrive at the hospital and greet Charlie Ashby (Noah Alexander). He tells them that Hilary Curtis (Mishael Morgan) and his mom have been admitted after a car wreck. He then tells them he was in the backseat, but walked away without a scratch. Charlie and Shauna Nelson fill them in on what happened. Shauna says she was across the street when the truck hit. Nate goes to get information and Neil calls Mattie Ashby and wants to speak to Cane Ashby.

Back over at the Athletic Club, Cane Ashby listens to Neil Winters. After he gets off the phone he tells Mattie Ashby they have to go. Close by, Nikki Newman fills Victor Newman in on what has been going on. Nikki wants to heal the rift. Victor tells her to tell Nick Newman to fold up shop.

At Crimson Lights, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle), Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway), and Summer Newman (Hunter King) discuss what Nick is doing and he appears. Nick brings up how their father treated them to Victoria and Abby. Summer thinks it is a chance for her to get in on the ground floor and likes the fact it could be hers one day. They all receive a text from Nikki Newman to meet.

Cane Ashby and Mattie Ashby arrive at the hospital and learn the details. Nate Hastings appears with information. Lily Ashby is conscious with no serious injuries, but Hilary Curtis is critical. Things don’t look god, but they are trying to save her and the baby. Shauna Nelson cries. Neil Winters tries to reach Devon Hamilton. Soon, Lily appears with Dr. West. He says she is in the clear.

Neil wants an update on Hilary. He says they are doing the best they can. Nate asks Dr. West what he is doing there. Turns out they used to work together. Nate announces he is taking over Hilary’s case. Charlie gives his dad more details as to what happened. In the OR, Nate argues with Dr. West about operating on Hilary. Nate’s determined to save her and the baby. Later, Nate stares disheateredly at an empty stretcher and delivers bad news.

Over at Sharon McAvoy’s place, she listens as Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) goes on about Nick Newman. Sharon wants some good news, so Mariah fills her in on she and Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) now being a couple. Mariah then notes you can not take a second chance for granted. Then gives Hilary Curtis the credit for making her see that.

At the Athletic Club, Nikki Newman is sitting beside Victor Newman as she tells Nick Newman, Victoria Newman, Abby Newman, and Summer Newman that this is a Newman family summit, but Nick doesn’t want to hear it. Nikki suggests Nick and Victor become partners. Nick says he wants to succeed on his own then fills them in on setting Noah Newman (Robert Adamson) up an office in London for Dark Horse. Summer tells Nick she can not leave Fenmore’s, but Abby Newman says she is in.

Abby tells her dad she wasn’t treated fair. Nikki sticks by Victor. Victoria holds off on making her decision. Nick has a final announcement. Jack Abbott appears. Nick introduces him as Dark Horse’s executive consultant and board member. Victor says they are bound to fail. After the fact, Victoria Newman tells Victor she will stay with him but wants it in writing that she will take over when he steps down and wants COO as well. Victor says he will have it drawn up.

Nick Newman arrives home and gets a warning from Mariah Copeland that Sharon McAvoy is really messed up from all his lies.
