The Young and the Restless RECAP Wednesday, September 5: Tessa Needs 20,000, Devon Skeptical

“The Young and the Restless” (YR) recap for Wednesday, September 5, 2018 reveals that at the prison, Lily Ashby (Christel Khalil) sits in her bunk. She looks at photos of her family and breaks down.

Ashby Twins Get Ready For First Day Of School

At the Ashby’s, the twins argue while Cane Ashby (Daniel Goddard) stares off into space while making the kids waffles for their first day of school. Charlie Ashby (Noah Alexander) thinks about staying at home, but Cane says they need to move forward. Cane tells them they will visit Lily Ashby tomorrow. Sam starts to cry and Cane goes to attend to him. Mattie Ashby (Lexie Stevenson) offers Charlie a ride, but he turns her down.

Devon Shows Up At Work

At Hamilton-Winters Group, Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) is shocked to find Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) there. Devon tells her he couldn’t get any work done at home and then fills her in on Lily Ashby’s sentencing. He let’s her know that he spoke on his sister’s behalf, but hasn’t forgave her.

Mariah thinks with good behavior she will be out much sooner. Mariah leaves and Nate Hastings (Brooks Darnell) appears. Nate asks him how he is doing and Devon let’s him know that he is trying not to blame himself. Nate suggests Devon visit Lily.

Summer Is Back

Summer Newman (Hunter King) storms into her home and reads a note Phyllis Summers (Gina Tognoni) and Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) left explaining they have moved out.

Kyle Is Trying To Make Dina Happy

Over at the Abbott place, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Phyllis Summers chat about Summer Newman and the fact that she will be back today. Phyllis does not think her daughter can outdo her in the revenge department. Dina Mergeron (Marla Adams) appears ready to watch a movie with her popcorn. Kyle is doing whatever makes Dina happy and Phyllis thinks it’s sweet. Summer arrives and she is pissed and Kyle tells Phyllis and Summer to take their arguing outside.

They ignore him. Dina tells them if they are going to argue at least do it loud enough so that she can hear. Summer brings up being sent away and wonders if Phyllis has Billy Abbott locked away too. Phyllis snarks that he was in her bed this morning. Dina laughs. They argue over who is the biggest hypocrite until Dina starts crying and asks Kyle to make them stop. As Kyle shows Summer out the door, Dina and Phyllis watch the movie. Phyllis then suggests they take a stroll outside and Dina grabs her purse. Phyllis takes a call and has Dina to sit outside. Phyllis gossips to Lauren Fenmore Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman) about her daughter and afterwards she notices Dina is gone.

Mariah Offers To Give Tessa Money

At Crimson Lights, Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) falls behind on orders. The line gets longer and Mariah Copeland comes in and jumps in to help. Mariah tells her what to do for the next rush. Mariah offers to help Tessa with money but she will not let her. Charlie Ashby arrives and lies that they had a teacher conference today, but Tessa doesn’t buy it. Once her back is turned Charlie disappears. Summer Newman and Kyle Abbott arrive and Summer is still ranting about her mom.

Tessa Needs $20,000 For Her Sister

Tessa and Mariah appear. Summer is shocked that Tessa came back and asks them are they a thing. They ignore her. They leave. Summer then texts Billy Abbott asking if he wants to see her tan lines. Tessa goes and approaches Devon Hamilton and let’s him know how sorry she is. Devon asks her what she wants and she says she needs 20 grand for her sister. Devon tells her that she already blew her second chance with him.

Back over at the Ashby’s, Nate Hastings arrives to chat with Cane Ashby. Cane is upset that Lily can not have visitors for the first 48 hours and wished Devon Hamilton could help. Nate don’t see that happening.

Back at the Abbott mansion, Kyle Abbott returns to find Phyllis Summers panicking because she can not find Dina Mergeron. Kyle tells her to calm down and let’s her know that he has a tracker in her purse and that she is in the den. Dina reappears and is ready to watch the movie.

Devon Suspiciousn Of Tessa

Devon Hamilton goes to Mariah Copeland. They chat about Tessa Porter coming back and Devon let’s her know that he is skeptical about the reason she needs cash.
