The Young and the Restless RECAP Wednesday, September 19: Kyle’s Closing In On Billy

“The Young and the Restless” (YR) recap for Wednesday, September 19, 2018 reveals that over at Jabot, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) arrives and thanks Gloria Bardwell (Judith Chapman) for doing the wire transfer. He goes into the office and makes a call to confirm the transfer and Phyllis Summers (Gina Tognoni) appears. She tells him about her talk with Summer Newman (Hunter King). Billy wants to go some place else to talk.

Sharon Shares News

At Sharon McAvoy’s (Sharon Case) place, Sharon tells Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) that she is giving the student address for her graduation. Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) appears and Sharon asks her for pointers of how to get through the speech. Mariah gives her advice and they leave.

At the Athletic Club, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) meets up with Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) in the dining room. He informs her that Billy Abbott is stealing from the company. Ashley worries Kyle may be preying on his brother’s addiction.

Kyle Fills Ashley In On Billy’s Shady Wire Transfer

Kyle explains that he has a Wall Street buddy with a betting syndicate. He then tells her that they were talking and there was a six-figure buy that came from a CEO of Jabot. He then shows her a wire transfer that took place, but neither of them can access it due to the password.

At the police station, Paul Williams (Doug Davidson) tells Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) that he was brought there by the police commission and has nothing to show for his time there. Rey tells him he has an idea to figure out what happened to J.T. Hellstrom (Thad Luckinbill) and says he is going to start with Sharon McAvoy first because he thinks she is the weakest link.

Back at Jabot, Kyle Abbott tries to get the password from Gloria Bardwell. She will not budge. He then points out to her that if Billy Abbott goes down then so will she. He tells her it’s time to save her own butt.

Gloria Rats Billy Out

Later, Ashley Abbott arrives and Kyle shows her where Billy made a $500,000 wire transfer to an associate with the gambling syndicate. Then points out Billy now is a CEO with an embezzlement problem. Ashley gets upset and says Billy is spiraling and this is not the way she wanted to take him down. She walks out.

At the Abbott mansion, Billy Abbott and Phyllis Summers chat. Billy comes clean about the gambling and about betting six-figures. Phyllis admits she is not on board with his gambling and thinks it is becoming dangerous. Billy thought they was in this together and feels she is trying to fix him like Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle). He then tells her she’s either with him or she’s not.

Sharon’s Emotional Speech

At graduation, Sharon McAvoy talks about rebuilding her life, her mental illness, and what she learned at Genoa City University in her speech.

After graduation Sharon McAvoy, Nick Newman, and Mariah Copeland arrive back at home. They have balloons and cake set up for Sharon to celebrate. Mariah makes a toast then Nick.
