The Young and the Restless RECAP Wednesday, May 30: Jack Tries To Drink His Sorrows Away, Feels Betrayed

“The Young and the Restless” (YR) recap Wednesday, May 30, 2018 reveals that over at the Newman Ranch, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) is upset at Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) for throwing Christian’s paternity in his face.

They argue and Nick points out that Victor is not above using baby Christian as a pawn. It then comes out how long Victor has known the truth. Victor argues that Christian will be the future of Newman but Nick is not having it. Nick wants none of his kids to be molded in Victor’s image. Nick tells Victor he hasn’t changed and leaves. Victor cries.

Over at the Abbott’s, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) is happy to see his aunt Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland). She wants to know where he stands with the family and Kyle fills her in on his hopes of Victor Newman mentoring him. Kyle didn’t want anyone to get hurt he has just felt like an outsider. Then they talk about Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Traci thinks they can get through to Jack. They find a note Jack left asking that his mail be forwarded to the Athletic Club.

Over at the bar of the Athletic Club, Jack Abbott drinks his sorrows away. Kyle and Traci Abbott show up to question him about moving out. Traci is not standing for his self pity. Jack sobs about his situation and how he feels Kyle betrayed him. Kyle wants to make amends. Jack is not buying it and wants them to move along. Kyle admits to regretting his choices that he has made.

Traci asks Kyle to go and then lays into Jack. Traci wants him to reconsider moving out for the sake of their mother. Jack refuses and Traci says they are no less family. Traci breaks down in tears and Jack says he has to find out who he is aside from John Abbott’s son. They embrace and Traci tells him the door will always be open.

Over at Crimson Lights, Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) runs into his niece and nephew. Charlie Ashby (Noah Alexander) wonders why Shauna (Camryn Hamm) hasn’t reached out. Mattie Ashby (Lexie Stevenson) and Devon tell him to text her. He doesn’t hear back from her, but runs into her. She is upset and has ran away and wants him to hide her.

Over at GC Buzz, Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) talks aloud to Hilary Curtis (Mishael Morgan) but she is nowhere to be found. When she finds Hilary she is not acting her normal self and she phones the doctor to get her in. Mariah wonders what is going on with her. Later, Devon Hamilton arrives and she fills him in that Hilary is acting weird. Devon talks to Hilary but she insists that it is Mariah’s imagination. Hilary leaves to run an errand and when she returns Mariah let’s her know Devon left. Hilary is emotional and falls into Mariah’s arms. Hilary reveals she just came from her OB/GYN office and she’s pregnant.

Over at Sharon McAvoy’s (Sharon Case) place, Nick Newman talks to a photo of Christian and says grandpa is out of our lives. Victor Newman arrives and tells Nick if he tries to keep Christian from him that he will take him to court and sue for custody. Nick points out his name is on the birth certificate. Then Victor yells he is Adam Newman’s son. Nick then adds that Victor is a convicted felon and could be barred from seeing his grandchildren. They continue to bicker about the situation and Victor says they’ll let a judge and jury decide.

Traci Abbott gets home and updates Kyle Abbott on how things went with his father. She says Jack Abbott needs his space to find his way again. Kyle is disappointed and concerned for his father.

Over at the Athletic Club, Devon Hamilton joins Jack Abbott. They chat about pregnancy and fatherhood. Jack fills Devon in on wanting to forgo a new path and Devon says he may be able to help. And that’s a wrap. Don’t forget to check often with Soap Opera Spy for all your soap needs!
