The Young and the Restless RECAP Wednesday, May 23: Gloria Has Her Eyes On Arturo & Jack

“The Young and the Restless” (YR) recap for Wednesday, May 23, 2018 reveals that over at Jabot, Gloria Bardwell (Judith Chapman) questions Billy Abbott’s (Jason Thompson) plan of getting a window between the CEO office and reception and Arturo Rosales (Jason Canela) chimes in. Gloria likes Arturo being around and admits Billy has some great ideas. Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) arrives and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) joins them. Billy explains they are refreshing the company. When Arturo and Billy steps inside the office Gloria let’s Jack know that she is on his team. Jack joins the guys to see the plans they have. Later Jack learns that he will be sharing an office with his son. Phyllis Summers (Gina Tognoni) arrives. Kyle pulls Jack away and Billy and Phyllis chat about Jack being in denial. Billy is worried things are changing between him and Jack.

Over at Sharon McAvoy’s (Sharon Case) place, Sharon tells Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) if he can not sleep because of his dad’s offer for him to come back to Newman Enterprises then maybe that’s a sign, but she will support him regardless. Nick is considering going back. Nick wants to better his relationship with his dad and keep Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) legacy alive. Sharon worries that Nick is getting sacked back in by Victor but Nick assures her he can handle his dad. Sharon texts someone to meet her at the coffee house.

At Crimson Lights, Arturo Rosales asks Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) for help choosing what he should wear for the fundraiser. Over at the patio, Jack Abbott apologizes to Kyle Abbott for costing him his birthright. He suggested maybe he should work for Victor Newman but Kyle points out Victor is not his dad he is and they have to stick together. Jack tells Kyle once Billy screws up as he always does they will step in and take their rightful places at the company. Back inside Sharon meets up with Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) and tells her that she thinks Nick Newman is making a horrible mistake. Victoria thinks Nick returning to Newman Enterprises is a great idea. Sharon wants her to think about what it will do to Nick.

At Fenmore’s, Abby Newman and Arturo Rosales shop for him something to wear. She has him try on a suit but it’s not expensive enough for her taste so she hands him another. Abby gets a call from Victoria Newman who wants her help on convincing Nick Newman to come back to Newman Enterprises. Arturo listens in as Abby whines about getting kicked further down the food chain. She tells Victoria she is on her own. Arturo let’s Abby know he overheard her conversation and emerges in an awesome suit and hugs her. Arturo thinks the suit is ridiculous but he is going to buy it.

Jack Abbott goes back to Jabot and apologizes to Billy Abbott and Phyllis Summers about his earlier reaction. Phyllis leaves. Jack then asks Billy to give him time to get used to not being in charge. Jack says he will do what it takes to make things work and wants to know his position. Billy tells him whatever he wants it to be other than CEO. Billy calls a team-building meeting. Jack don’t like the new direction.

Victoria Newman goes to Sharon McAvoy’s place to let Nick know she loves the idea of him coming back to Newman Enterprises. Sharon argues against it. Victoria wants someone by her side that she can trust. Sharon let’s Victoria know she and Nick are back together.

Back over at Crimson Lights, Abby Newman wants Arturo Rosales to reach out to Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) at the fundraiser. She offers to be his plus one. Arturo tells her his invite was only for one so he will be going alone. He doesn’t want to ask Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) for any special treatment.

Over at the Athletic Club, Kyle Abbott frets about Jack Abbott having to sucks it up where Billy Abbott is concerned. Jack notes it’s going to be harder to get rid of Billy than he thought. And that’s a wrap. Don’t forget to check often with Soap Opera Spy for all your soap needs!
