The Young and the Restless RECAP Wednesday, May 2: Phyllis Pushes Hilary To Use Devon’s Sample Quickly

“The Young and the Restless” (YR) recap for Wednesday, May 2, 2018, reveals that over at GC Buzz, Hilary Curtis (Mishael Morgan) tells Phyllis Summers (Gina Tognoni) that Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) has her doing a special episode on his grandmother for Chancellor Park.

Mariah Walks Into A Private Conversation

Hilary is stumped about how to turn planting a flower into scintillating television. Phyllis suggests that she makes it more about Katherine and less about the flower planting and maybe move the location, but Devon is set on having it that way. They begin to discuss Hilary’s pregnancy issue and Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) walks up and they get quiet and she notices their mood change. Hilary blames it on being pregnant and Devon arrives.

Hilary Makes An Appointment For Insemination

Devon wishes he would have thought things through more before making a deal with Hilary and Phyllis wonders how long it is going to take him to admit he still has feelings for Hilary. After, Phyllis tells Hilary to make that appointment with her OB/GYN and do it quickly. Hilary calls but hangs up when Devon approaches her. Later, Hilary’s doctor calls back to confirm the appointment for the insemination. Then the show goes live and it is on secrets and lies. Mariah shares the secret of her getting drunk then wonders what kind of secret Hilary could be hiding. Hilary chimes in that sometimes withholding the truth is the kindest thing you can do but adds one lie leads to more and it spins out-of-control.

Paul Grills Victoria

At the Ranch, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) reassures Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) who is still wondering if she did the right thing by letting Reed Hellstrom (Tristan Lake Leabu) go off to boarding school. Victoria says Reed is having a great time, but she feels guilty sending him away to make things easier for her. Victoria gets a call from Paul Williams (Doug Davidson). He wants her to come to the station because he has some new evidence about J.T. Hellstrom’s (Thad Luckinbill) case. Nikki starts to wonder if Sharon McAvoy (Sharon Case) cracked. Nikki insists that she is going to Victoria.

Paul Confused Victoria Did Not Report J.T. Abuse

Over at the station, Paul Williams wonders why J.T. just up and ran off after scuffling with Victor Newman (Eric Braeden). He tells Victoria that he could have pleaded self-defense. Victoria feels that if the jury saw the videos of him abusing her they would have convicted him. Paul says that J.T. leaving made things easier for Victoria and Paul reveals they traced J.T.’s phone the night of her party and it came back to be at her house. Victoria then adds maybe he dropped it. Paul says it would still be there and asks if J.T. called or texted her that night. She claims to have turned her phone off for the party. She realized later she had some texts and voicemails but deleted them. Paul buys it, but still wonders why she didn’t come forward about the abuse. Victoria did not want Reed knowing what his father did. Paul then wonders if he came by one last time and she helped him run. Victoria then gets furious and reminds Paul he is the one who brought him back to town to investigate her father. She says she has told him everything and leaves.

Nick Needs A Cold Shower

Over at Sharon McAvoy’s place, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) walks in and catches Sharon in between rooms wearing only a bra and panties. She explains herself, and Nick says he is going to have to take a very cold shower. Later, Sharon gets a call from Paul who wants her to come to the station and Nick says he is going too.

Paul Questions Sharon

Over at the station, Sharon and Nick arrive and run into Nikki and Phyllis. Nick wonders why Paul is wasting time questioning them about the same party. Paul appears and wants to talk to Sharon first. In his office he questions Sharon on if J.T. showed up that night and she denies that he did. Phyllis and Nikki deny it as well. Nikki and Phyllis says Victoria’s phone was off, but Sharon says it rang and she didn’t answer it. Now Paul is confused. Then he questions Nick and makes Nick start wondering if J.T. is held up somewhere in town.

The Ladies Talk Moving The Body

Over at the ranch, Nikki, Phyllis, Sharon, and Victoria compares notes and what they told Paul. They learn Sharon said Victoria’s phone rang and Phyllis wonders if she needs flash cards to stay on the same page. Sharon suggests they use the fact that they were drunk for their discrepancies. Phyllis reminds her that Nikki doesn’t drink anymore. So she suggests they say she fell off the wagon and Nikki says absolutely not. The conversation then turns to them moving the body. Phyllis wants Nikki to shut down the park for a day. Then Victoria wants to talk to her mother alone and feels guilty for the whole mess and says she is going to confess to killing J.T. Hellstrom!
