The Young and the Restless RECAP Wednesday, May 16: Jack Drinks, Records A Video & Crashes His Car

“The Young and the Restless” (YR) recap for Wednesday, May 16, 2018 reveals that over at the Abbott’s place, Jack is still not found. Dina Mergeron (Marla Adams) is upset that they haven’t heard from “John” and Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) reassures her he’s okay.

Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) arrives at the Abbott cabin and begins drinking. Once the bottle is almost gone he records a video and makes a joke about making a sequel to Dina Mergeron’s documentary. Jack thinks back to when John and Dina used to argue at the cabin and wonders if that is where she brought her lovers. Jack gets out the memory book and snarks about the lies in it and burns it. Jack would like to burn the whole place down but he leaves and takes his alcohol with him.

Over at the Athletic Club, Victoria Newman (Amelia Henile) takes a call from Paul Williams (Doug Davidson) who wants to see her and talk to her about the texts on J.T. Hellstrom’s (Thad Luckinbill) cellphone she tells him she is really busy with work and hangs up on him.

Over at Newman, Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) tells her father that her mother will not be in due to her looking for Jack Abbott. She adds if anything bad happens to Jack it’s on him. Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) insists he had nothing to do with altering the video. Victoria arrives and Victor puts her over Ashley Abbott’s project. Abby takes off. In the corridor, she runs into Paul Williams and wants his help to find Jack. Paul says he will alert his officers. Then Paul asks her if she stopped by Victoria’s house the night J.T. Hellstrom went missing and she replies no.

Abby Newman arrives at the Abbott’s place, and informs Ashley Abbott and Kyle Abbott that there is not much Paul Williams can do at this point enough time has not passed. Kyle offers to go check at the cabin, but Abby says she will do it. She let’s Ashley know that Victoria is doing her project. Ashley could not care less she is more worried about Jack.

Back over at Newman, Victor Newman is still with Victoria when he receives a text from Kyle Abbott wanting to see him. Victor leaves and greets Paul Williams on his way. Paul is there to talk to Victoria and she tells him she has a video conference. Paul says he can wait. Later, Paul reads off the texts messages to Victoria where J.T. Hellstrom was angry and asking her not to ignore him. Victoria reminds him she turned off her phone that night. He let’s her know someone heard her phone ringing and she says maybe she turned it off afterwards. Paul then brings up the part about Abby Newman stopping by that night and adamently tells her that one of them knows something. Victoria cracks and says she will tell him everything.

Over at Crimson Lights, Abby Newman runs into Arturo Rosales (Jason Canela) and informs him that her uncle Jack Abbott is still missing. He offers to drive her to the cabin in his truck since there is a storm coming.

Over at the Newman Ranch, Kyle Abbott meets Victor Newman and tells him about Jack Abbott’s disappearance. He wants Victor to give him a job at Newman although he will not move until he knows his dad is okay. Victor tells Kyle he don’t owe him a damn thing and he did not alter the video and if he wants a spot at Newman he must continue to bring him information about Jabot.

Back over at the Abbott Cabin, Abby Newman and Arturo Rosales realize that Jack Abbott has been there but is already gone. Abby thinks he couldn’t have got far since the fireplace is still burning. They decide to see if he is fishing and return soaking wet after being in the rain. Abby suggests they get out of their wet clothes. Talk turns to Arturo and his family. He then tells her he just got out of a relationship. Arturo finds Abby funny and beautiful and they move close.

Kyle Abbott finds his grandmother in dismay. She blames herself for driving “John” off with her affairs. Kyle admits he set all this in motion by sharing private information. Dina just wants “John” back at home and so does Kyle.

Driving in the storm, Jack Abbott flashes back to throwing the blood Abbott clause in Ashley’s Abbott face and arguing with Kyle, and his mother’s confession. He turns on some loud classical music and speeds up. Suddenly, Jack loses control of the car and crashes into something. And that’s a wrap.
