The Young and the Restless RECAP Wednesday, July 25: Phyllis Admits To Hilary She’s Going To Die

“The Young and the Restless” (YR) recap for Wednesday, July 25, 2018, reveals that in Hilary Curtis’ (Mishael Morgan) hospital room, she awakens to Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) who tells her he has a surprise. He shows her wedding invitations.

At home, Phyllis Summers (Gina Tognoni) reads her invitation to Devon Hamilton and Hilary Curtis’ wedding.

At Sharon McAvoy’s (Sharon Case) place, Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) reads her invitation to Hilary Curtis and Devon Hamilton’s wedding. Mariah feels a hospital wedding is not a good sign. Sharon tells her to just be happy for them. They start chatting about Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks). Mariah tells Sharon things are complicated and just wants her support.

Over at Crimson Lights, Lily Ashby (Christel Khalil) tells Cane Ashby (Daniel Goddard) that the police are on their way to Hamilton-Winters Group to interview her. She says she will tell the truth that a truck came out of nowhere and hit them.

At Hamilton-Winters Group, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) wants to hire Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John) for the PR department at Dark Horse, but Neil passes. Neil says Hilary’s accident has given him a new perspective and he does not want to be a part of the pettiness between Nick and his father. Shortly after, Lily Ashby meets a female officer and gives her the details about the day of the accident.

She says she does not remember much except a truck coming out of nowhere. Then Mariah Copeland tells Tessa Porter about Devon Hamilton and Hilary Curtis’ wedding. Mariah wonders if she and Tessa will ever get their happy ending. Mariah thinks Tessa can clear Crystal’s name and not have to leave town, but Tessa thinks her sister should stay in hiding. Mariah decides if Tessa leaves she will go with her.

Phyllis Summers arrives at the hospital to see Hilary Curtis. Phyllis updates Hilary that Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) wasn’t cheating. Hilary tells Phyllis she lost the baby and thinks Devon Hamilton is planning the wedding to get her mind off of it. Hilary asks Phyllis to be her maid of honor and she accepts. Phyllis leaves in search of a dress for Hilary. In the waiting room, Neil Winters questions Devon about rushing into marriage and tells him he has plenty of time.

Devon points out that Hilary is out of time. Neil is speechless. Devon asks him to be his best man and Neil agrees. They hug and are in tears. In Hilary’s room, Cane Ashby chats with her and brings up how she was there for him and Sam after Juliet died. Cane then apologizes for cutting her out. Hilary tells him the accident was no one’s fault. In the waiting room, Phyllis thinks Devon should wait until Hilary’s out of the hospital so she can walk down the aisle. Devon says Hilary only has a few days left.

Over at the penthouse, Charlie Ashby (Noah Alexander) tries to talk Shauna Nelson (Camryn Hamm) into attending Hilary Curtis’ wedding. Charlie tells her his mom is talking to the police today. Shauna points out Lily ran a red light. Charlie tells her he knows, but Lily doesn’t remember. He wants to let it go.

Back over at Crimson Lights, Nick Newman runs into Phyllis Summers and she is upset. He tells her he worked things out with Sharon McAvoy and asks about her and Billy Abbott. She doesn’t want to talk about it. Phyllis tells him about Hilary Curtis’ condition and that she is not going to make it. Sharon appears and Phyllis shares the news with her too. After Phyllis leaves Sharon tells Nick that she feels bad for her. Later, Charlie Ashby, Mattie Ashby, Cane Ashby, and Lily Ashby talk about Hilary’s wedding. Lily tells them about her interview.

Shauna Nelson arrives at the hospital. Hilary assures her the accident was not her fault. She wants Shauna to be her bridesmaid at her wedding. Shauna is surprised that they aren’t holding off getting married until she gets out of the hospital. Hilary realizes that no one has told her when that will be. Devon appears and tells Hilary they can take a trip around the world for their honeymoon. Phyllis Summers arrives with the dresses for Hilary to choose from.

They have Devon to leave so they can pick the dress. Hilary demands Phyllis be straight with her about why Devon is rushing the wedding, she keeps pressing for answers and Phyllis finally tells her that the doctors don’t expect her to make it. Phyllis tells her doctors can be wrong and wants her to fight. Hilary says she will fight as much as possible.
