The Young and the Restless RECAP Wednesday, July 18: Nick Is Ruthless, Shocks Sharon, Nikki & Victoria

“The Young and the Restless” (YR) recap for Wednesday, July 18, 2018 reveals that over at the penthouse, Hilary Curtis (Mishael Morgan) let’s Shauna Nelson (Camryn Hamm) know that Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) will be home later. Shauna thanks her for letting Charlie Ashby (Noah Alexander) come over and Hilary says she had no choice since she found out after the fact. After Hilary is gone Shauna texts Charlie.

At Crimson Lights, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) examine an invitation they received by a company called Dark horse. Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) arrives and reveals she got the same invite. They wonder why a company raiding Newman Enterprises would invite three Newmans.

Over at Hamilton-Winters, Charlie Ashby texts Shauna Nelson and let’s her know he is trying to get out of work. Charlie asks Mattie Ashby (Lexie Stevenson) to cover for him. Charlie tells his mom he has cross-country. At the Dive Bar, Hilary Curtis chats with Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) about how much Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) cares about her. Hilary thinks Mariah is afraid to trust their relationship.

Tessa Porter joins them and Hilary tells them they have a shot at something great. She tears up while warning them things will come up that test their relationship. After, Mariah tells Tessa there is something going on with Hilary and it’s not just the hormones. At the end of the show Hilary signs off with an emotional and cryptic message about things changing and not knowing what will happen next. Tessa and Mariah thinks Hilary is cheating. Over drinks, Mariah tells Tessa that Hilary had great advice. They kiss.

Nikki Newman, Abby Newman, and Victoria Newman arrive to the venue and find an empty boardroom. Sharon McAvoy (Sharon Case) and Summer Newman (Hunter King) appear and they all find it creepy. Out of nowhere, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) enters and welcomes them to the Dark Horse. Nick reveals this is an exciting new venture. Nikki points out this has to do with his father. Nick says Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) has never let anyone make the rules but himself and that’s all about to change. Nick talks about how Victor has turned on them all.

He warns Abby she will never measure up. Nick argues that he tried to make peace but then Victor gave him Victoria’s job. Nikki says she doesn’t recognize him anymore and he tells her she should and that for the first time he is his father’s son. He apologizes to Victoria for hurting her. After, Sharon, Victoria, and Nikki whisper about J.T. Hellstrom (Thad Luckinbill) while Summer tells her dad he is badass. They want Nick to let it go, but he refuses. He reveals that he’s made deals with almost every corporation that severed ties with Newman. He will create a new legacy and wants all of them to join.

At the penthouse, Charlie Ashby arrives. He and Shauna agree they have never felt this way before. Charlie has condoms and they head upstairs.

Back at Hamilton-Winters Group, Lily Ashby (Christel Khalil) worries about Charlie Ashby running in the heat. When she goes to leave to go to the school Mattie Ashby spills the beans.

Lily Ashby arrives at the penthouse and Shauna Nelson runs downstairs. Charlie Ashby is mad that Mattie Ashby told. Lily tells Shauna she is a bad influence. Hilary Curtis arrives. Shauna says Hilary knew Charlie was coming. Hilary says it was a misunderstanding, but calls Lily uptight. Hilary and Lily argue. Hilary becomes irate when Lily blames Shauna for making bad choices. Charlie hollers that Shauna took off and says he has to find her.

In the car, Lily Ashby is driving while she and Hilary Curtis continue to argue while Charlie Ashby is in the backseat. Hilary reminds Lily she wasn’t perfect at Shauna’s age. Lily says Devon Hamilton having a baby with her was the worst idea ever. Just then a loud horn sounds and the car is smashed by a semi-truck. And that’s a wrap.
