The Young and the Restless Recap Wednesday, August 8: Lily Gets Bad News, Billy's BIG Announcement“The Young and the Restless” (YR) recap Wednesday, August 8, 2018 reveals that at their apartment, Phyllis Summers (Gina Tognoni) and Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) chat. Phyllis asks Billy to play hooky from work, but Billy reveals it’s a big day at Jabot. Billy still does not tell Phyllis what he is up to.

Lily Fears For Her Future

Over at Crimson Lights, Cane (Daniel Goddard) and Lily Ashby (Christel Khalil) are worrying about what the future holds for her. Lily hopes her confession will give her brother closure. Sharon McAvoy (Sharon Case) appears and points out that Lily is brave for telling the truth.

Later on Phyllis Summers and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) are there and she let’s him know Lauren Fenmore Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman) is running late. She then tells him that she and Billy Abbott have made up. Lauren gets there and is ready to give her pitch, but Nick has changed his mind about investing in Fenmore’s. Lauren wants him to let her know if he changes his mind. Nick then goes to Sharon and shows her a house listing.

At Hamilton-Winters Group, Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) tells Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John) about a dream he had involving Hilary Curtis (Mishael Morgan). He says it felt so real and he woke up believing she was alive for a moment. Neil wants him to keep living for Hilary and his child.

Devon Fires Lily

Lily Ashby arrives and let’s Devon know she told Paul Williams (Doug Davidson) everything. Neil wonders if she knows what they are going to do yet. Lily just wants to know what Devon is thinking. Devon tells her she should have went to the police immediately. Lily says she could be facing twenty years. Neil is rattled.

Neil thinks the personal issues should be left outside the office. Talk turns to GC Buzz. Neil wants to find someone to partner with Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes). Devon agrees. Lily wants to help and Devon accuses her of trying to take Hilary’s job. Lily tells him she does not want to co-host. Devon doesn’t want her involved at all and fires her.

Ashley And Kyle Scheme

Over at Jabot, Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) tells Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) she thinks they are going to regret whatever Billy Abbott has done with the R&D money. They think about getting Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) involved.

Billy arrives and Ashley and Kyle leave. Once they get to the elevator they run into Phyllis Summers and Lauren Fenmore Baldwin and asks them to talk elsewhere.

At the Athletic Club, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) complains to Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) about not getting to see Christian. She suggests he speaks to Nick Newman. Close by, Kyle Abbott, Phyllis Summers, Lauren Fenmore Baldwin and Ashley Abbott discuss what Billy Abbott may be up to.

Phyllis has no issue with Billy being CEO. Lauren reminds her of his loyalties. Summer Newman (Hunter King) walks in and sees them and calls Billy to tell him. Billy decides to summon them to the office.

Later, Nick Newman runs into his father. Victor tells him despite their differences he loves him. Nick says he uses his love to manipulate them and he will not tolerate it.

Nikki And Sharon Argue

Nikki Newman arrives at Sharon McAvoy’s place. Sharon is feeling guilty about J.T. Hellstrom (Thad Luckinbill) since Lily Ashby’s confession. Nikki wants Sharon’s help to make peace between Victor Newman and Nick Newman. Sharon says no.

Nikki tells her Victor wants to see Christian and Sharon points out it is always about them. She refuses to help. They bicker.

Billy’s Big Announcement

At Jabot, Billy Abbott announces his secret venture, Jabotique. Lauren is furious and says you can not be serious. Billy already has commitments for boutiques in 30 cities. Ashley Abbott is upset he did this without consulting with anyone.

Billy defends his move. Ashley thinks 30 stores is too many. Billy points out he is CEO and it’s happening. Outside, Ashley tells Kyle Abbott it’s going to be harder to get rid of Billy Abbott than they thought. And that’s a wrap. Don’t forget to check often with Soap Opera Spy for all your soap needs.
