The Young and the Restless Recap Wednesday, August 29: Victoria Cracking, Rey’s Questions Getting To Her

“The Young and the Restless” (YR) recap for Wednesday, August 29, 2018 reveals that over at Crimson Lights, Sharon McAvoy (Sharon Case) tells Phyllis Summers (Gina Tognoni) that she has been trying to reach Summer Newman (Hunter King) with no success.

Phyllis informs her she is on vacation. Sharon wonders why Phyllis didn’t go with her and she points out they needed a vacation away from each other. Phyllis then fills Sharon in on she and Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) moving out. Talk turns to Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and him pretending to be J.T. Hellstrom (Thad Luckinbill). Then Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) is brought up. They worry about her cracking.

At the Dive Bar, Victoria Newman runs into Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) and he introduces himself. Victoria leaves. In the dining room area, Victoria goes and joins her parents. Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) points out she is late and she snaps at him and let’s him know she has been busy with work.

She steps away and Victor questions Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) what is going on with Victoria. Nikki lies and says Katie has been keeping her up at night. Victor goes and apologizes to Victoria. While Victor is calling Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) to join them Nikki let’s Victoria know she covered for her, but Victoria tells her to back off.

At the penthouse, Nate Hastings (Brooks Darnell) tries to get Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) to exercise and he refuses. Nate leaves. Abby Newman arrives and is worried about Lily Ashby (Christel Khalil). She asks him if he wants her to be treated fairly or spend the maximum time. She can’t believe Devon is acting this way and points out it’s not like him.

They argue. Then Abby takes a call from her father and agrees to dinner. After, Devon tells her he is only doing what Hilary Curtis (Mishael Morgan) and the baby deserved. Later, Devon and Nate chat. He tells Nate that Abby is only interested in one side of the situation. Nate tells Devon he is dead wrong to think he does not need help. They bicker. Nate questions how he will feel if Lily is sentenced to 20 years and he says he hasn’t thought that far ahead.

At the club, Abby Newman joins Victor Newman, Nikki Newman, and Victoria Newman. Victoria apologizes for taking her frustrations out on Abby and she accepts. Rey Rosales appears and Abby introduces him as Arturo Rosales’ (Jason Canela) brother. Victor grills him. Rey leaves. Victor wants to know how Abby met Arturo’s brother and she explains.

Victoria says her goodbyes. Nikki follows her, but Victoria doesn’t want her help. Victor and Abby watch on and wonder what is going on. Victor then brings up Dark Horse. He tells her she is always welcome to come back to Newman Enterprises.

Later, Victor runs into Devon Hamilton at the bar. He gives his condolences to Devon and Devon opens up to Victor about the hearing tomorrow. Victor thinks Lily Ashby made a tragic mistake. Victor tells Devon if he can’t forgive Lily then that is his choice.

Back over at Crimson Lights, Rey Rosales chats with Sharon McAvoy and Phyllis Summers. He points out they seem more than capable of taking care of themselves. Sharon tells Rey if his financial services job doesn’t work she will ask Nick Newman to find him something at Dark Horse. He goes to the patio as Victoria Newman and Nikki Newman arrive.

The four women realize they all know the handyman. Nikki says he sure does get around. Abby Newman shows up and they tell her they were discussing Rey. Abby mentions him asking her about J.T. Hellstrom. Victoria is bothered by Rey being curious about J.T. Nikki thinks Victoria is being paranoid. Victoria points out he is going around asking questions about J.T. and has gone out of his way to meet them all.

Abby Newman goes back to Devon Hamilton’s penthouse and chats with Nate Hastings about Devon. Abby wants someone to be able to get through to Devon, but Nate doesn’t think that person exists. And that’s a wrap. Don’t forget to check often with Soap Opera Spy for all your soap needs.
