The Young and the Restless RECAP Wednesday, August 22: Summer Preps For Philly, Ashley And Kyle Scheme Against Billy

“The Young and the Restless” (YR) recap for Wednesday, August 22, 2018 reveals that over at Jabot, Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) fills Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) in on Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) buying the leasing company.

She hopes Dark Horse cancels Billy Abbott’s (Jason Thompson) leases. Kyle then runs into Summer Newman (Hunter King) who is ready to head to Philadelphia. Kyle tells her she has not factored in that her mother will be tracking her every move. Summer insists she is getting on the plane and will get Billy into bed.

Jack And Nick Talk Business

At Sharon McAvoy’s (Sharon Case) place, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Nick Newman talk business. Jack has some leases that needs cancelled which is Jabotique. Nick gets aggravated and accuses Jack of putting his personal agenda first.

Jack tells Nick he just wants to stop Billy Abbott because he knows he will fail. He shows Nick proof they are bad deals. Nick decides instead of cancelling the leases, he will keep them for long term leverage over Billy. Nick reminds Jack whose company this is and shows him out.

Sharon Gives Lily A Pep-Talk

Lily Ashby (Christel Khalil) awakens in her bed from a nightmare about the accident. Cane Ashby (Daniel Goddard) asks her if she wants to talk about it. Cane suggests she speak to a therapist.

Over at Crimson Lights, Sharon McAvoy is shocked to see Phyllis Summers (Gina Tognoni). They talk about Summer Newman and how she is still giving Phyllis problems. Phyllis blurts out how Nick is buying her off. Then explains how he is giving her money since Summer blew through her trust fund.

Later, Lily and Cane Ashby arrive. Sharon reassures Lily that she is strong. Cane leaves. Lily tells Sharon she knows she has been studying psychology and needs to talk to her. Lily opens up about her nightmares.

Lily wonders how to go on. Sharon glances at the Colleen + J.T. heart on the bench, then tells Lily she made a mistake and must forgive herself. They hug and Lily thanks her.

Summer Prepares For Philadelphia

Back over at Jabot, Summer Newman finds Phyllis Summers and tells her she is taking a vacation. Phyllis tells Summer she will need her help while Lauren Fenmore Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman) is away.

Summer says she is going and Phyllis becomes suspicious about what she will be doing on her trip. Phyllis tells her she will be packing while Billy Abbott is away for their move. Summer pouts.

At the Dive Bar, Ashley Abbott puts Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John) off again when he calls asking her to dinner. Jack Abbott arrives and tells her Nick Newman will not cancel the leases. Ashley says she will come up with something else.

Downstairs, Jack and Neil get together and chat. Neil reveals that he and Ashley have been seeing each other. Jack didn’t know but hopes it works out.

Ashley And Kyle Conspire Against Billy

At the Abbott mansion, Ashley Abbott tells Kyle Abbott that Jack Abbott couldn’t get the leases canceled. She wants Kyle’s help. She swears him to secrecy and tells him since they can’t reign Billy Abbott in that they need to gather evidence against him and give him enough rope to hang himself.

Kyle wants to know what he gets for helping. He reminds her of the blood Abbott clause and she says she will put Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) in long enough to get rid of it. Kyle realizes she wants to take over.

Kyle Abbott meets up with Summer Newman at Crimson Lights. She tells him her mom bought her story. Then fills him in on them moving out. Kyle shares he has big plans for his future.

Neil Pursues Ashley

Neil Winters goes and catches Ashley Abbott at Jabot. He suggests dinner again but she says she does not have time. Neil wants to know what is up between them and she says that she wouldn’t mind seeing where it goes, but can’t commit to anything. Neil says they can see where it goes.

Up at the Dive Bar, Kyle Abbott tells Phyllis Summers he is there to make it up to her for spilling her secret. He tells her about Summer Newman’s plan.

At home, Sharon McAvoy chats with Nick Newman and tells him about her conversation with Lily Ashby. They feel they are lucky to have one another. And that’s a wrap. Don’t forget to check often with Soap Opera Spy for all your soap needs.
