The Young and the Restless RECAP Tuesday, May 8: Dina Invites Victor To Her Screening, Abbotts Horrified

“The Young and the Restless” (YR) recap for Tuesday, May 8, 2018, reveals that over at Sharon McAvoy’s (Sharon Case) place, she and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) work their way to the bed and start undressing and make love.

Nick & Sharon Agree To Be Friends With Benefits

Afterward, Nick asks Sharon if she wants Chinese or pizza. They both agree it was a workout and neither have any regrets. Later, they order pizza and watch an old movie. Nick wipes pizza sauce off of Sharon’s lips and they kiss and head back upstairs for round 2. After sex, Sharon questions Nick on where things are going for them. Nick is not ready to jump into another relationship so soon. Sharon acts relieved and they both agree to be friends with benefits. Sharon wants them to keep it to themselves.

Traci Wants To Cancel The Screening

Over at the Abbott’s place, Dina Mergeron (Marla Adams) asks about Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor). Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland), and Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) all assure her that he will be at the screening. Dina is confused and they refresh her memory about the showing. Ashley and Abby chat about Jack’s paternity and still think it’s best he doesn’t know. Ashley says what he doesn’t know can’t ever hurt him. Later, Jack tells Abby and Ashley he wants the night to be special for his mother. Traci appears and informs them that Dina is not okay. Dina comes in and wants her mommy to tuck her in. Ashley wants to cancel the screening. Jack gets on the phone to do so and Dina comes in angry and does not want him to cancel.

Devon Tells Victor Devon Is Going to be A Daddy

Over at the Newman Ranch, Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John) chats with Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and points out he has not slowed down. Neil wants to take his progress public and let everyone know Victor is stronger than ever. Neil tells Victor about the screening of Dina Mergeron’s documentary and that Charlie Ashby (Noah Alexander) did the editing. Talk turns to Neil expecting a grandchild. Neil informs Victor that Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) is ready to become a parent.

The Ashby Family Gets Ready For The Screening

Over at the Athletic Club, Cane Ashby (Daniel Goddard) admires Lily Ashby’s (Christel Khalil) dress and wants to go upstairs. She tells him they don’t have time. They talk about Charlie Ashby’s talent and Cane hides a trophy as the twins walk up. Close by, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) phones Kyle Abbott and is angry that he missed a meeting. Kyle arrives after the client has left. Billy reached a deal without him and talk turns to Dina’s screening. Elsewhere, Cane tells Charlie he looks good and tells him to put a proposal together to pitch to him. Neil joins. Lily is glad that Devon Hamilton is gone to a business meeting so that Hilary Curtis (Mishael Morgan) will not be there.

Jack Gives Kyle A Gift

Back over at Abbott’s place, Kyle Abbott arrives and Jack Abbott gives him a gift which is John Abbott’s cufflinks. Jack tells him to wear them with pride. Kyle thanks him. When Billy makes it there he informs them that Phyllis Summers (Gina Tognoni) is gone to a conference with Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle). They head out.

Jack Learns He Is Not An Abbott

Over at the theatre, Dina makes the comment that they should have had the screening in Cannes. Charlie Ashby tells Neil Winters he is nervous. Jack Abbott thanks everyone for coming and makes a speech about his mother. The screening is about to begin when Victor Newman arrives. Jack says it is invitation only. Neil speaks up he invited him. Dina insists Victor stay as her guest. The film starts out with the original interview Abby did and then cuts out to Dina’s declaration about taking John for granted and spending time with other men. Victor grins. Dina declares, “Jack is not John’s son.”
