The Young and the Restless RECAP Tuesday, May 29: Nick’s Done, Tells Victor To Take His Job and Shove It

“The Young and the Restless” (YR) recap for Tuesday, May 29, 2018 reveals that over at the Athletic Club, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) chats with his daughter Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) about business. Talk turns to Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) returning to the company. Victor points out that he wants to reward Nick for showing strength of character that he didn’t know he had.

Over at Sharon McAvoy’s (Sharon Case) place, Sharon wonders why Nick Newman has been so quiet since they left the barbecue. Nick informs her that Victor offered him his sister’s position at the company. Sharon worries that Nick is going to be put in the middle.

Over at the Abbott’s place, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) have a chat. Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) appears and let’s his sister know he quit at Jabot and that he is not going to stand by and watch Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) dismantle John Abbott’s company. Kyle feels they should give Billy a chance and agrees with the decision of pulling the legacy scent. Ashley wants them to try to convince Billy to get rid of the blood Abbott clause. Jack brings up that he was going to start a company with Kyle, but he betrayed him once again. Kyle argues he never agreed to Jack’s plan and takes off. Later, Dina Mergeron (Marla Adams) walks in as Jack is pouring himself a drink and tells him to put down her husband’s liquor. She demands to know his name and Jack tries to tell her, but she thinks he is the help and orders him to leave.

At GC Buzz, Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) and Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) chat about Hilary Curtis (Mishael Morgan) and about how things are evolving between the two.

At Crimson Lights, Phyllis Summers (Gina Tognoni) and Hilary Curtis look at pictures from the barbecue. Hilary informs her that her and Devon Hamilton are back together or at least she thinks. Then Hilary takes a call from Mariah Copeland who let’s her know Devon wants to do a show today from the rooftop. Later, Sharon McAvoy and Victoria Newman chat about Nick coming back to Newman Enterprises. Sharon informs Victoria that her father offered Nick the COO position and Victoria takes off.

Over on the rooftop, Hilary Curtis is shocked to find Devon Hamilton there who wanted to surprise her. Devon has the rooftop closed for a private party for just the two of them. Devon offers her a swimsuit and later they get massages and hold hands. Then a little later Hilary asks if they are a couple. Devon admits he has been afraid to revisit it, but since they are committed to having the baby he feels like it could be a fresh start. Hilary introduces herself and Devon is looking forward to getting to know her better. They kiss.

Over at the Athletic Club, Kyle Abbott goes to Mariah Copeland and asks her questions about Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks). He insists that she does not give up and Mariah changes the subject. Kyle talks to her about his dad being in a bad place and him letting his dad down again. Then adds watching his family come apart hurts like hell. Mariah offers him to come be a part of her family and notes Sharon McAvoy likes to take in strays.

Over at Sharon McAvoy’s place, Nick Newman opens the door to find an angry Victoria Newman. She is furious that he took her job. Nick points out she wouldn’t be in this position if she had not tried to get Ashley Abbott tossed out of the company. He insists that Victor Newman said she was fine with it. Nick is very annoyed by his father pulling his old stunts and storms out.

Over at the Ranch, Nick Newman confronts his dad about misleading him. He notes that their heartfelt conversation must have meant nothing to him. Victor says he couldn’t be more wrong and he couldn’t ignore Victoria Newman conspiring with Jack Abbott. Nick says he is done. Victor warns him the job was a one time offer and whoever takes the job will be running Newman one day.

At GC Buzz, Hilary Curtis thanks Devon Hamilton for a great day. Phyllis Summers arrives and Hilary fills her in with all the juicy details and then says she hopes she is pregnant.
