The Young and the Restless RECAP Tuesday, May 22: Jack Shocked, Billy Refuses To Give Up Control Of Jabot

“The Young and the Restless” (YR) recap for Tuesday, May 22, 2018 reveals that over at the Abbott place, Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) updates Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) with what is going on with his dad Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman). She let’s him know that Jack is home and they both should talk to him. Kyle informs Ashley that Jack is no longer there and she wonders where he could’ve went.

Over at Jabot, Jack Abbott arrives and learns that Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) is now CEO of the company. Billy let’s him know that he is trying to get the blood Abbott clause overturned. Billy brings up the fact that Jack went on a drunken bender and went awol and that should be the subject of their discussion. Phyllis Summers (Gina Tognoni) arrives and backs Billy up. Jack doesn’t want to discuss all that he just wants to get back to running the company. Phyllis lights into Jack. Billy feels Jack is in denial. Billy offers Jack a place at the company. Jack is frustrated and leaves. Kyle Abbott spots Jack Abbott and goes with him. Ashley arrives and learns of Jack’s resentful exit. Then they all speculate and she steps away to call the house. Billy and Phyllis chat about him being leadership material and tells him that he needs to use his own ideas. Ashley returns and wants to know why Billy is not using her ideas.

At GC Buzz, Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) and Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) are glad they pulled something together overnight for the show. Mariah and Hilary Curtis (Mishael Morgan) rehearse for the show. Charlie Ashby (Noah Alexander) arrives and is informed he is needed to go on camera. The show is going to be on proms. Shauna (Camryn Hamm) arrives and Hilary and Mariah convince her to be on the show as well. The show begins with models in prom dresses and Hilary introduces Devon and asks what it was like in high school. Mariah pops up teens pictures of Hilary and Devon. Hilary fires back with pictures of Mariah. Shauna then models a dress and gets a surprise “promposal” from Charlie. She accepts and then asks Charlie to come with her to her prom. He accepts. Later Hilary and Devon talk about a job well done.

Over at the Ranch, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) speaks to Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) about being concerned about Jack Abbott, but Victor is more worried about locating J.T. Hellstrom (Thad Luckinbill) and making him pay.

Over at Sharon McAvoy’s (Sharon Case) place, Sharon McAvoy and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) joke about letting everyone know they are back together on GC Buzz. Sharon says some reactions may not be positive. Sharon says she will talk to Victor Newman if he will talk to Nikki Newman. Moments later Nikki Newman arrives. Nick leaves and Sharon begins to talk to Nikki informing her she has some news about her and Nick and Nikki guesses they are back together. Then talk turns to Sharon convincing Nick to give up his search for J.T. Hellstrom. Nikki feels Sharon can get through to him. Then Nikki wants to know what is going to be different with her and Nick this time.

Nick Newman goes to the ranch and chats with his father Victor Newman. He let’s his dad in on his news and Victor thinks it is wonderful. Nick wasn’t expecting that kind of reaction. Nick let’s Victor know that Sharon is breaking the news to Nikki. Victor wonders how Faith Newman (Alyvia Alyn Lind) will feel. Victor feels the Newmans are in a good place and wants Nick to come back to Newman Enterprises.

Over at the Athletic Club, Jack Abbott let’s his son know that he stopped himself from hitting rock bottom. Then adds he just wants his job back. Kyle wants to help him and let’s him know he will back him up. Kyle suggest’s they go back to Jabot.

Jack Abbott and Kyle Abbott return to Jabot. They inform Billy Abbott, Ashley Abbott, and Phyllis Summers that the board is on their way to put the blood Abbott clause to rest. They know Billy did not want to be CEO but Billy informs them he is starting to like it. Billy says he will support him as a brother but he is not giving him his vote.
