The Young and the Restless RECAP Tuesday, May 1: Phyllis Freaks Over Sharon’s Mood Swings

“The Young and the Restless” (YR) recap for Tuesday, May 1, 2018 reveals that over at Crimson Lights, Sharon McAvoy (Sharon Case) is on edge and spills her coffee as she is wiping it up she notices Colleen Carlton and J.T. Hellstrom’s (Thad Luckinbill) heart carved into the bench seat. She grabs her coat and leaves.

Mattie Upsets About Reed

Out at the patio, Lily Ashby (Christel Khalil) wonders why Mattie Ashby (Lexie Stevenson) is not at home studying. Mattie insists she is okay but Lily calls for backup. Cane Ashby (Daniel Goddard) arrives and Mattie is upset that they are turning her need for space into an intervention. Lily tells Mattie she hasn’t been herself in days and Cane feels it has something to do with Reed Hellstrom (Tristan Lake Leabu) leaving town. Mattie feels guilty like it’s her fault for everything going wrong with Reed. She wishes she would have tried harder to be there for Reed. Mattie is upset that she is a loner. Her parents advise her not to be hard on herself.

Billy Suggests Kyle Try To Win Jack’s Trust Back

Over at Jabot, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) has a meeting with Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and talks about taking money from marketing and putting it back into R&D. Kyle argues the point. Jack let’s him know it’s Billy call as COO and Kyle complains. Jack leaves and Billy suggest that Kyle try winning Jack’s trust back. Kyle wants to talk off-site.

Victor Suspicious Of Sharon

Sharon McAvoy goes looking for Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) and runs across Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) at the ranch. Victor tells Sharon that he and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) finally agree for once about finding J.T. Hellstrom. He tells her about him choking Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) and says he will never do that again. Sharon goes to leave and Victor notices she is upset. Sharon begins rambling and Nikki arrives. Nikki says she and Sharon have plans to discuss Faith. They leave. Victor is skeptical.

Victor and Nikki End Their Agreement

In the stables, Sharon tells Nikki she didn’t say anything to Victor but the guilt is getting to her. Nikki tells her that she is going to have put that aside. Sharon doesn’t know how much longer she can handle things. Nikki phoned Phyllis Summers (Gina Tognoni) for help and she arrives. They all go over the decision they made. Phyllis reminds Sharon that they are not looking for a corpse. Phyllis questions Sharon if she is willing to lose everything because of what they did. Sharon will not do that to her children or Victoria. She says she will find a way to live with it. Back inside, Victor takes a few steps as Nikki enters. They get to arguing about their partners and decide to call things off with them. They agree that they are the love of each others life.

Billy and Kyle Wants Jack To Revoke The Abbott Clause

At the club, Kyle Abbott opens up to Billy Abbott about never really being a part of the Abbott family. They chat and go over Kyle’s transgressions. Kyle is upset about being treated like a misguided kid and wants Billy’s help. Billy doesn’t know whether or not to trust him. Kyle insists the Abbott’s are all he has. Kyle then talks about wanting to kill the Abbott clause to make the family right again. Billy reminds him Jack has already offered to do that. They agree to make it happen. They go back to Jabot and both ask Jack to revoke the clause. Jack seems willing but when Kyle gets pushy he backs away. Jack says they can’t afford for an outsider to take control so the clause stays.

Phyllis Worries About Sharon

Over at Sharon’s, Phyllis Summers worries about Sharon being a walking talking mood swing. She wants Sharon to get over it and honor their pact. They are in this together, forever, but that does not make them friends. Phyllis leaves.
