The Young and the Restless RECAP Tuesday, June 19: Sharon And Nick Engaged, Ashley Meets Arturo

“The Young and the Restless” (YR) recap for Tuesday, June 19, 2018, reveals that over at Sharon McAvoy’s (Sharon Case) place, Sharon is shocked by Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) unexpected proposal. Nick wants her to say yes, but she needs time to think about it and leaves.

Hilary Gets Moody With Mariah

Over at Crimson Lights, Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) is having coffee and the smell makes Hilary Curtis (Mishael Morgan) sick. She doesn’t want Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) to know about the sickness. Mariah says she can do their show alone if she would like and Hilary accuses her of trying to take her job.

Mariah walks off as Phyllis Summers (Gina Tognoni) approaches. Hilary is snappy with her too and rants about Devon seeing her sick. Phyllis points out they are not together 24/7 and Hilary fills her in on them being back together.

Phyllis lets her know that being sick is just part of pregnancy and not to be afraid to ask for help. Close by, Mariah meets with her mother who fills her in on Nick Newman’s proposal. Mariah is all for it. Sharon McAvoy is afraid that Nick just wants a wife to look good in court. Mariah encourages her to go for it and Sharon weighs out the pros and cons.

Jack Struggles Searching For Real Father

At the Abbott place, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) fills Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) and Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) in on his suspicions of his mother and Phillip Chancellor. He adds that Katherine Chancellor (Jeanne Cooper) was married to Gary Reynolds at the time so Phillip would be fair game.

He plans to talk to his mother and hopes that she remembers. Jack leaves the room and Abby tells her mom she wants to move back there. Then fills her in on the latest meddling that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) has done.

Jack comes back in the room and reveals Dina Mergeron (Marla Adams) remembered nothing. Jack is happy Abby is moving from the Newman ranch but says he will not be coming back and then he leaves. Abby tells her mother she wants him to meet Arturo Rosales (Jason Canela).

Phyllis Worried About Sharon’s Marriage

Over at the Athletic Club, Nick Newman fills in Phyllis Summers on his proposal. She is afraid it may hurt his case if they get married. Phyllis understands Sharon’s reservations about marrying him since he cheated on her. Phyllis adds she hasn’t married Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and thinks for once Nick should follow Sharon’s lead.

At the bar, Jack Abbott meets up with Esther Valentine (Kate Linder) in hopes that she can help fill in some missing pieces. He wants to know if his mother ever had an affair with Phillip Chancellor (Donnelly Rhodes) but Esther says she never heard about it.

She then tells him maybe Phillip Chancellor lll (Thom Bierdz) or Chance Chancellor (John Driscoll) could help. Esther leaves and Phyllis joins Jack. He fills her in on his quest. She says it looks like he will have to wait until Phillip lll and Chance return because it’s not like he can ask the elder Phillip for a cheek swab. Jack looks as if he has an idea.

Devon Supportive of Hilary’s Pregnancy 

At Devon Hamilton’s place, Hilary Curtis wonders why Devon wanted her to come home and he tells her because they are supposed to be experiencing her pregnancy as a couple. Phyllis texted Devon telling him about Hilary’s morning sickness. She tells him she doesn’t want him seeing her sick and he says that is silly. He tells her he will be there for her and they kiss.

Abby Introduces Arturo to Her Mom

At the Dive Bar, Abby Newman introduces Arturo Rosales to her mother. Ashley Abbott says she has been taking salsa lessons and Arturo goes to salsa with her. Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) arrives and seems jealous. The dance ends and Ashley tells Abby he is a keeper. Abby goes to the bar and Nikki makes a snarky comment about Arturo moving fast. Abby shuts her down.

Sharon Agrees to Marry Nick

Back at Sharon McAvoy’s place, Nick Newman and Sharon McAvoy laugh over the fact that she guessed that Phyllis Summers thought the proposal was a bad idea. Nick wants everyone to know just how important Sharon is to him and he is not going to stop trying. Sharon agrees to marry him. And that’s a wrap.
