The Young and the Restless RECAP Thursday, May 24: Billy Goes Rogue, Trashes Ashley’s Business Plan

“The Young and the Restless” (YR) recap for Thursday, May 24, 2018 reveals that over at Jabot, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) discuss his plans for Jabot. She feels Billy is trying to do too much. Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) arrives and Billy asks him for his support and he wants the same from Billy. Kyle wants Billy to get rid of the blood Abbott clause and bring Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) back as CEO. Billy feels Jack is not in the best state of mind to be CEO. Billy asks Kyle to renegotiate Jack’s deal with Hamilton-Winters. Kyle thinks it’s a solid deal but agrees to it.

Over at Sharon McAvoy’s (Sharon Case) place, Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) joins in the debate on whether Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) should accept his dad’s offer to go back to Newman Enterprises. Nick argues that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) almost dying should have changed him. Sharon thinks he will go back to jerking his kids around. Mariah sees both sides.

Talk turns to Cassie Newman’s anniversary. Sharon had went to the grave earlier with Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) but agrees to go again with Mariah. Once alone, Nick gets a call and says he is missing Cassie and wants the caller to come by. Moments later, Phyllis Summers (Gina Tognoni) arrives. He fills her in on maybe returning to Newman. She asks him if he is out of his mind. Then they discuss it further more. Sharon returns. Phyllis learns Sharon and Nick is back together and is not surprised. Phyllis urges Nick to think long and hard about his decision. Nick leaves to take a walk.

Over at the stables, Nick Newman flashes back to both Sharon McAvoy’s and Phyllis Summers arguments for not going back in his mind. He pulls out a picture of Cassie and then asks “Squirt” if she thinks he is making the right decision. Sharon appears. She and Nick talk about how Cassie loved the stables and they agree she would be happy that they are back together. Nick brings up going back to Newman again and she says she will support his decision. They embrace as Sharon becomes emotional and she reveals she still talks to Cassie every day. Nick says he does too and has an idea and asks Sharon to come with him.

Over at the bar of the Athletic Club, Ashley Abbott thanks Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John) for being there for her brother in his time of need. She explains to him that she had no other choice but to make Billy Abbott CEO immediately. She is concerned about his new role and Neil guesses that Billy has gone rogue. Ashley says she will wait a bit then work on eliminating the blood Abbott clause to put the right person in the CEO chair. Neil wonders who she is referring too.

Up at Hamilton-Winters Group, Neil finds Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) playing her guitar. They chat and Kyle Abbott arrives. Neil agrees to renegotiate Hilary Curtis’s (Mishael Morgan) deal in Devon Hamilton’s (Bryton James) absence. Neil leaves and Kyle introduces himself to Tessa. Mariah arrives and wants to know if Tessa is free to get food and movie. Tessa accepts and Kyle invites himself. Mariah gets called away by Hilary and Kyle asks Tessa if she would still like to go but she declines.

Back over at Jabot, Phyllis Summers joins Billy Abbott and jokes about Gloria Bardwell (Judith Chapman) being on a paint run with Arturo Rosales (Jason Canela). They get lovey dovey. They start having sex. Ashley arrives to a locked door.

Once Phyllis opens the door Ashley tells her to adjust her skirt. Ashley questions Billy about her business plan and he says he hasn’t had time to get to it. Ashley drops a file on his desk and he promises to look over it tonight but once she is gone he tosses it in a wastebasket.

Over at Crimson Lights, Nick Newman and Sharon McAvoy slow dance. He says he followed his heart and it lead him back to her and now he is going to follow his heart and do what’s right for his family.
