The Young and the Restless Recap Thursday, August 9: Billy Threatens Summer, Throws Her Out

“The Young and the Restless” (YR) recap for Thursday August 9, 2018 reveals that over at Hamilton-Winters Group, Lily Ashby (Christel Khalil) argues with Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) about him firing her.

Devon Wants Lily Gone

Devon doesn’t want to see her face everyday. Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John) points out that he and Devon are partners and Lily is not going anywhere. Neil and Devon argue. Lily decides if Devon wants her to go she will.

Phyllis Feels Caught In The Middle

At Jabot, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) confronts Phyllis Summers (Gina Tognoni) about conspiring against him with Lauren Fenmore Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman), Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson), and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor). Phyllis finds out Summer Newman (Hunter King) told him and she wonders if they are a team now. She then admits that Lauren has concerns about his leadership. She feels she is caught in the middle. She warns him of the risks. Billy swears it is going to work.

Kyle Calls Summer A Fan Girl

At the Dive Bar, Kyle Abbott brings up Summer Newman’s support for Billy Abbott’s Jabotique idea. Kyle calls her a fan girl with a crush. Summer then says Billy knows what women like her want. She then adds that Billy will run into her arms once he learns that her mom was with Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and that she plans to tell him tonight. Kyle reminds her that she has no proof.

Summer then decides they need to set up Jack and Phyllis and get it on camera. Kyle wants to help just to see it blow up in her face. In the dining room, Kyle runs into Jack. He then texts Summer to wish her luck on luring him to her place.

Over at Crimson Lights, Cane Ashby (Daniel Goddard) and Nate Hastings (Brooks Darnell) chat about Lily Ashby. Nate points out if they would have told immediately it wouldn’t be so bad. Nate advises him to be Lily’s rock and he says he will always be.

Summer Sets Up Hidden Cameras

At home, Summer Newman sets up hidden cameras. Phyllis Summers arrives and Summer tells her Jack Abbott seemed down when she ran into him.

Summer Newman goes to the Athletic Club and tells Jack Abbott that her mom and Billy Abbott are having problems and she is home alone stewing. Summer urges him to go save her from Billy Abbott.

At Crimson Lights, Kyle Abbott monitors Phyllis Summers and Jack Abbott on a laptop as he updates Summer Newman through texts.

Lily Feels Devon Hates Her

At Hamilton-Winters Group, Lily Ashby cries to Cane Ashby that Devon Hamilton hates her. She is worried this will tear her family apart forever. Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) calls. Lily tells Cane she is being arraigned tomorrow on two counts of vehicular homicide. Lily panics and Cane holds her.

Devon Wants Justice

At Neil Winters’ place, he updates Nate Hastings that Devon Hamilton is either full of rage or icy cold. They cross the hall and tell Devon they are there to save him from himself. Nate tells him how angry he was when he lost his girlfriend. Neil asks if Hilary Curtis (Mishael Morgan) would want this for him. Devon claims he just wants justice. He then accuses Neil of caring more about Lily.

Jack and Phyllis Talk

Jack Abbott shows up at Phyllis Summers’ place and they sit and chat. They chat about Devon Hamilton and Hilary Curtis. Then talk turns to Jack’s paternity.

Summer Kisses Billy

Back over at Jabot, Summer Newman texts Kyle Abbott that she is going in for phase 2. She enters Billy Abbott’s office. They eat and toast to Jabotique. Billy gets a pain in his shoulder and Summer jumps up to massage him. When he gets up she kisses him. Billy asks, “What the hell was that?” Billy warns her to stop or he will tell Phyllis Summers. Billy tells her to get out.

Jack Attemps To Kiss Phyllis

Back at Phyllis Summers’ place, Jack Abbott tries to get her to come on board at Dark Horse. Phyllis appreciates him looking out for her. Jack says he will always be there for her then goes in for a kiss. She jerks away and he apologizes.
