The Young and the Restless RECAP Thursday, August 2: Cane Fears Lily Will Be Arrested

“The Young and the Restless” (YR) recap Thursday, August 2, 2018 reveals that over at the penthouse, Lily Ashby (Christel Khalil) has no recollection of running the red light.

Shauna Reveals Lily Caused The Accident

Cane Ashby (Daniel Goddard) thinks Shauna Nelson (Camryn Hamm) is exhausted and tells her to go upstairs, but Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) jumps in and says Shauna is not going anywhere. Cane then suggests that Shauna is not remembering the events correctly or making it up. Devon knows Shauna has no reason to lie. Charlie Ashby (Noah Alexander) steps in and says Shauna is not lying.

He then breaks the news to his mother that she did in fact run the red light. Devon wants to know why this wasn’t brought up sooner and Cane admits it was because of him. Devon questions Cane on how he could do that to his son and Shauna. Lily says, “And to me?” Phyllis Summers (Gina Tognoni) gets furious. Cane tells Lily that he kept it from her because he was afraid Devon would not forgive her. Devon speaks up and says, “You were absolutely right about that.”

Devon Is Heatbroken

Outside, Nate Hastings (Brooks Darnell) sees Phyllis and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) off. Back inside, Devon is heartbroken. Cane snaps it would have never happened if Hilary Curtis (Mishael Morgan) hadn’t let Charlie and Shauna hook-up there. Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John) warns them against saying things they may regret. Devon wants to talk to Lily. Once alone, Lily apologizes and says she only took her eyes off the road for a moment. Devon questions the timing of her memory returning.

Lily gets upset and Devon reminds her she hated Hilary. Lily would give anything to change the events. Devon says she can’t and that his wife and children are gone. Lily pleads with him. Devon snaps and says she wanted Hilary out of her life and she got her wish. Lily begs him not to let this come between them. Devon tells her to go be with her family and thanks to her he doesn’t have one.

Cane Fears Lily Will Have Trouble With The Law

Across the hall, Cane is upset of the timing of all this. Shauna thinks they should have told Devon sooner and Mattie Ashby (Lexie Stevenson) agrees. Cane points out Lily could be in serious trouble with the law.

Nick Offers Summer A Job

Over at Crimson Lights, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Summer Newman (Hunter King) chat about Phyllis Summers. Then talk turns to work. Nick wants her to come work for him. Summer says she likes the people she is currently working with. Then talk turns to Nick and Sharon McAvoy (Sharon Case). Summer thinks they are the real deal unlike her mom and Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson). Summer leaves to meet Victor Newman (Eric Braeden). Nick reminds her Victor’s generosity has strings.

Victor Has A Suprise For The Newman Ladies

At Newman Enterprises, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) is impressed by her mother. Victor Newman appears and says he has a surprise.

At the Athletic Club, Victor Newman has rented out the dining room to show Victoria Newman, Summer Newman and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) how much he appreciates them. He reflects on Hilary Curtis’ death. He is proud of Victoria for stepping up when he needed her. They toast. Nikki tells Victor they are grateful to be a part of his family. Victoria and Summer chime in as well. Summer and Victoria leave. Victor suggests a walk through Chancellor Park, but Nikki is hesitant.

Phyllis Rants About Lily

At the Dive Bar, Phyllis Summers rants to Jack Abbott about Lily and Cane Ashby. Jack offers to let her break things in his suite. She is upset that Billy Abbott chose now to go AWOL and thanks Jack for being there for her. Phyllis thinks Billy left to gamble. Jack suggests she go to Jabot.

Nick Offers Victora A Job

Back over at Crimson Lights, Nick Newman meets with Victoria Newman. He tries to persuade her to come to work with him, but she will not. Nick tells her she will always have a place at Dark Horse.

Phyllis Accues Billy Of Playing Poker

At Jabot, Phyllis Summers finds Billy Abbott and suggest they go into his office, but he says no. He tells her what is happening there is private. She thinks he has a poker game going. He takes her in to prove her wrong. He shows her the executives in his office and says what is happening is great for Jabot. He re-enters the office and closes the door.
