The Young and the Restless RECAP Monday, May 28: Victor Appoints Nick COO, Victoria Furious

“The Young and the Restless” (YR) recap for Monday, May 28, 2018 reveals that over at Sharon McAvoy’s (Sharon Case) place she and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) sit Faith Newman (Alyvia Alyn Lind) down to tell her the good news about them being back together.

Faith does not take the news the way they expected her to. She feels they don’t work as a couple and should just be great friends. She is scared of them breaking up again. They are glad that she is honest with them and apologize for what they put her through. Faith is happy to hear that Nick has made up with Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and agrees to give this a chance.

At the Abbott’s place, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) confronts Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) for betraying him, but Kyle notes that he never agreed to anything that Jack just assumed he would leave.

Over at the Newman ranch, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) worries about Victor Newman over doing it but he wants to attend the Memorial Day barbecue to support Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John) and be with her.

At the Dive Bar, Neil Winters is set for the barbecue but Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) informs Neil they have a problem and may have to call it off. Hilary Hamilton (Mishael Morgan) let’s them know that the caterers all got the flu and cancelled for that reason. Hilary thinks fast on her feet and comes up with a solution.

Nearby, Kyle Abbott is greeted by Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) who tries to get information about Jack Abbott but he sees through her. Meanwhile, Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) and Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) arrive at Hilary’s request and are asked to cook for the good of the company. Mariah agrees if Hilary pitches in as well. Hilary agrees. Devon comments and Hilary let’s him know he is helping too. Once they get behind the grill Hilary is overwhelmed when she learns the RSVPs have doubled due to Mariah putting out a post on social media that Hilary would pose for photos while cooking.

Over by the bar, Kyle hits on Tessa but she shuts him down and tells him she don’t date Mariah’s friends. Mattie Ashby (Lexie Stevenson) walks by and admires Kyle’s shirtless body and Lily Ashby (Christel Khalil) pulls her away. They ask why Hilary and Devon are grilling. Then Lily watches as Hilary smiles and looks over Charlie Ashby’s (Noah Alexander) prom photos with him. Lily makes a remark and Hilary flips a burger which lands on Lily.

Kyle has words with Charlie about the documentary, then Kyle is confronted by Jack Abbott once again. Kyle tells Jack he doesn’t have the experience to get involved with a start up company, but Jack blames his actions on Victor Newman who appears. Victor tells Jack that he has no one to blame but himself and Neil intervenes.

Over by the entry way, Nikki Newman and Victoria meet up with Nick Newman, Sharon McAvoy and the kids. Nick says he has good news but is interrupted by Neil making a speech. Once he’s done, Mariah tells Tessa she will cheer for her while she sings and they make nice.

At the grill Kyle appears and Hilary wants to know if Jack is okay and Kyle informs her that he is not. Over on the couches Nick let’s his family know that he has decided to return to Newman Enterprises. Victor grabs Neil’s mic and tells everyone drinks are on him and that he is celebrating the return of his son to his company. Kyle looks concerned. The party continues and Hilary and Devon flirt.

Mariah checks on Faith and gives her some words of encouragement. Sharon asks Mariah about Tessa she noticed they looked as if they were getting close again. Shauna (Camryn Hamm) arrives to the party and chats with Hilary. Lily goes to her dad to tell him it looks as if Hilary has her hooks in Devon again. She surprises Hilary by telling her she better treat him right this time.

Elsewhere, Mattie walks up to Victoria and ask if she has heard from J.T. Hellstrom (Thad Luckinbill) she is asking because Reed Hellstrom (Tristan Lake Leabu) really misses his father.

At Hamilton-Winters, Charlie Ashby and Shauna chat and Charlie tells her that he didn’t get a chance to do this…and lays a kiss on her. Holding hands they leave to go eat. Downstairs at the bar, Kyle Abbott meets Victor Newman and let’s him know that Jack Abbott left Jabot. Kyle tells him he didn’t leave with his father and still wants a spot at Newman and Victor tells him he made a wise decision sticking with Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson).

Back at the party, Tessa Porter sings and Kyle Abbott reveals to Mariah Copeland that Tessa wouldn’t date him because of her. Mariah let’s him know that it is not because she is into him and that it is because she is into Tessa. Mariah let’s him know it’s one sided but Kyle doesn’t think so by the way Tessa looks at Mariah.

Jack Abbott goes and updates Nikki Newman and Victoria Newman on the fact that he is not John Abbott’s son. Victor Newman revises a press release where Nick Newman learns he will be COO instead of Victoria.
