The Young and the Restless RECAP Monday, August 13: Billy’s Power Struggle With Ashley Intensifies

“The Young and the Restless” (YR) recap for Monday, August 13, 2018 reveals that over at Sharon McAvoy’s (Sharon Case) place, Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) notices all the gowns Sharon has there. Summer Newman (Hunter King) arrives and Mariah realizes it’s going to be another girls night.

Lily Tells Cane About Mattie

At home, Lily Ashby (Christel Khalil) fills Cane Ashby (Daniel Goddard) in on Mattie Ashby (Lexie Stevenson) going online and getting information about her sentencing. Lily wants to get things done while she is still free.

Victoria Concerned About Nikki’s MS

Over at Newman Enterprises, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) updates Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) that Reed Hellstrom (Tristan Lake Leabu) is doing great at music school and barely mentioned his father. Victoria becomes concerned about Nikki’s MS, but she reassures her it is being treated. Victoria gets a call from Sharon McAvoy who asks her to be her bridesmaid. She and Nikki decide to head to Sharon’s.

Billy Calls Ashley A Backstabber

At Jabot, Phyllis Summers (Gina Tognoni) is there looking for Summer Newman. Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) wonders what she has done. Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) arrives and Billy confronts her about being a back-stabber. Ashley suggests that he only open up one boutique and see how it goes.

Billy wants to make an impact. Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) joins them and they argue about the money Billy is spending. Billy orders them out of the office. Ashley and Kyle agree that Billy is out of control. Kyle asks what his loyalty is worth to her.

Phyllis Confronts Summer

Back over at Sharon McAvoy’s place, Phyllis Summers arrives tracking down Summer Newman. She wants to know why Summer is a bridesmaid when she has never liked Sharon and then confronts her about manipulating Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman). Victoria Newman and Nikki Newman arrive and wonder why Phyllis is there. Phyllis says one of the bridesmaids has boundary issues.

Summer and Phyllis continue to bicker. Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) arrives and asks if it is another girls’ night. Victoria blurts out that since Sharon and Phyllis have become so close maybe she should be a bridesmaid too. Nick says, “Really?” Sharon and Phyllis agree that Phyllis will be better cheering them on as guest. Nikki asks if Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will be invited, but she thinks he would cause problems.

Summer learns from Mariah that Nick stayed out all night when he and Sharon were fighting. Nick leaves. They choose a style for the bridesmaids dress. They start chatting about the previous girls’ night and Hilary Curtis (Mishael Morgan) is brought up. They toast to her. Later, Mariah and Summer tease back and forth and Summer leaves and Mariah goes upstairs.

Then the four get into it about Victoria trying to force Phyllis to be Sharon’s bridesmaids. Nikki exclaims it was only a joke and points out Phyllis was going to let them take the blame for J.T. Sharon feels they will never be free of it. They decide they will continue to keep the secret from him. Nick returns.

Cane Tells Lily They Are Going To Australia

Over at the Athletic Club, Charlie Ashby (Noah Alexander) points out the weird vibe. Lily Ashby let’s them know she pled guilty. Mattie then throws in that she looked it up and their mom could get up to 20 years. Cane Ashby vows they will do whatever it takes to stay together. The twins leave. Charlie has a plan to save his mom.

Cane tells Lily he bought five tickets to Sydney, Australia and that they are leaving tonight. Up at the Dive Bar, Kyle Abbott wants more than lunch from Ashley Abbott if he is helping her. Summer Newman arrives and criticizes Ashley for conducting business there. Summer thinks they are comprising. After she is gone, Ashley tells Kyle to handle her.

Summer Tattles On Kyle and Ashley

Summer Newman goes to Jabot and fills Billy Abbott in on Kyle Abbott and Ashley Abbott plotting. Billy tells her to leave and keep her distance.
