The Young and the Restless RECAP Friday, September 28: Rey Gets Closer To Sharon, Phyllis Saves Billy

“The Young and the Restless” (YR) recap for Friday, September 28, 2018 reveals that over at the Dive Bar, Sharon McAvoy (Sharon Case) and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) both start talking at the same time when suddenly the fire alarm goes off.

Nick hollers for everyone to get out of there. Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) reports it was false alarm. The party continues and Nick Newman tells Phyllis Summers (Gina Tognoni) that he never got the chance to tell Sharon. They bicker and Phyllis lists all the reasons he should not tell her. He finally decides he won’t.

Summer Grows Suspicious

Across the place, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) shows up. Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) and Tessa wonder if he is there to see Summer Newman (Hunter King). Summer comes over and learns Kyle has a date. Summer and Kyle end up alone. Summer has Kyle to look over at Nick and Phyllis having an intense conversation.

In the elevator, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) trap Sharon and tell her she is not going to tell about J.T. Hellstrom (Thad Luckinbill).

Back out at the Dive bar, Summer talks about her parents one night fling and Mariah overhears. Mariah thinks Summer is making up rumors and threatens to tell Sharon until Kyle hollers, “No!” Mariah learns it is true. Kyle let’s it out that Nick paid Summer to keep quite.

Phyllis Rescues Billy From Police Station

At the police station, Phyllis Summers thanks Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) for calling her. She is taken to Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) who has been brought in. Billy has had too many drinks, but Rey let’s him go as long as Phyllis agrees to drive him. Billy and Phyllis chat and he admits to her the money is gone. Billy then tells her he took the money from Jabot.

Rey Gets Closer To Sharon

At Crimson Lights, Sharon McAvoy ignores a call from Nick Newman and is startled by Rey Rosales looking for coffee. They talk about her new place and she tells him she is having reservations about leaving her old home. Sharon offers Rey the apartment upstairs, when Nick Newman arrives. Rey leaves.

Nick wants them to salvage the night. They slow dance. After, Nick asks Sharon what she was going to say before the alarm went off and Sharon points out he was going to say something too. Nick tells her he is willing to do whatever it takes to make it right this time and Sharon says she was going to say the same thing. They kiss and embrace. And that’s a wrap.
