The Young and the Restless Recap Friday, November 9: Victoria Feels Guilty & Ashamed After Speaking To Troubled Reed “The Young and the Restless” (YR) recap for Friday, November 9, 2018, reveals that over at Sharon McAvoy’s (Sharon Case) place, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) arrives and wonders what else Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) found at Chancellor Park. Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) appears and adds that’s the question on everyone’s mind. She figures it’s only a matter of time before he makes an arrest.

Mariah reveals it’s a very big day for her. Sharon wonders if it’s work-related and Mariah says no. Once alone, Sharon and Nikki go over the possibilities surrounding Rey’s investigation. Nikki wants Sharon to go to the station and find out what’s going on. Nikki hollers that Sharon’s going back to that station and to do what needs to be done!

At Jabot, Kerry Jones (Alice Hunter) joins Phyllis Summers (Gina Tognoni) to find her obsessing over the J.T. Hellstrom (Thad Luckinbill) story. She muses from what she read he was no prince. Phyllis turns the conversation to the lab. Kerry reports things are going well with replacing the products then adds some of the lines are bloated. Phyllis agrees and looks forward to her recommendations.

At the Athletic Club, Nate Hastings (Brooks Darnell) tells Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) how sorry he is about the turn of events in the J.T. Hellstrom investigation. She admits she’s preparing herself for the worst. Nate offers support, but she wants to be alone. Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) appears and joins Nate. They discuss Lily Ashby’s (Christel Khalil) transfer.

Talk then turns to Ashley Abbott’s (Eileen Davidson) departure, which was a loss for Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John) as well. Jack predicts Ashley will feel even more competitive toward Jabot with Phyllis Summers as CEO. The conversation then turns to Dina Mergeron’s (Marla Adams) Alzheimer’s. Jack talks about the sophisticated women he once knew is now lost to him. Nate advises him to hang onto the good memories.

At Crimson Lights, Mariah Copeland approaches Tessa Porter seeking an answer about living together. Tessa loves her and wants to spend as much time together as possible. Mariah doesn’t want her to feel pressured. Tessa thinks Mariah is scared and reassures her. They discuss where to live, and Tessa refuses to have Mariah support her and says they will split the rent. She suggests they move into her studio for now.

At Newman Enterprises, Nikki Newman arrives to find Victoria Newman ending a call with Reed, who is having a rough time. Victoria relays that he’s a wreck, but doesn’t want to come home. She feels ashamed and guilty and worried it will come out that they killed his father and covered it up. Nikki needs to believe they will come out of this unscathed and says Victoria needs to as well.

At the police station, Sharon McAvoy informs Rey Rosales that she is resigning. Rey thinks they make a good team. Sharon says that is the problem that they are too good together. Mariah Copeland appears and speaks to Sharon alone about her decision to move in with Tessa Porter. Sharon asks why the rush. Mariah has to jump in. Sharon wishes her luck.

After, Rey admits to Sharon he has feelings for her but must honor his commitment to his wife, Mia Rosales (Noemi Gonzalez). Sharon says she felt something too and must quit her job to make sure they do the right thing. Sharon tries to fish about the J.T. Hellstrom case, but Rey can’t tell her anything. He makes another pitch for her not to quit her job. Sharon says she’ll be at her desk if he needs her.

Back over at Jabot, Nikki Newman and Victoria Newman drop in on Phyllis Summers as she and Kerry Jones are discussing doing a men’s line for Jabot. Introductions are made with Kerry, who exits. Phyllis is furious at the interruption and snaps about having a business to run and wants Victoria and Nikki to leave her alone.

Victoria thought they should touch base. Nikki warns about Sharon McAvoy threatening to quit her job, and Victoria stresses they have to remain united regardless. Phyllis announces she’s out, but then concedes they couldn’t break their bond if they wanted to. She insists they stop their get-togethers, however, too many people have become suspicious, including Rey Rosales. Victoria and Nikki agree.

Back at Sharon McAvoy’s place, Mariah Copeland looks around at the first real home she’s ever had before leaving with Tessa Porter.

Back at the Athletic Club, Jack Abbott learns Nate Hastings will be working at Memorial and congratulates him. Kerry Jones appears and Jack introduces her to Nate, who has to go. Jack has a proposition for Kerry, and invites her to attend the Jaboutiques launch and after-party with him. Kerry replies, “I will definitely think about it.”

At Tessa Porter’s studio apartment, Mariah Copeland tells her it’s perfect. Mariah struggles to find space in the closet as Tessa has a bunch of packed bags.
