The Young and the Restless RECAP Friday, May 11: Kyle Blasts Nikki, Accuses Her Of Hurting People

“The Young and the Restless” (YR) recap for Friday, May 11, 2018, reveals that over at the Abbott’s, Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson), Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland), and Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) celebrate Mother’s Day with Dina Mergeron (Marla Adams). Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) gets home and lets them know he had a swab taken to see if he is an Abbott.

Nick Wants To Do Something Special For Mother’s Day

Over at Sharon McAvoy’s (Sharon Case) house, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) wants to do something special for her since it’s Mother’s Day. They get close, but Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) interrupts. They come up with a cover story and send Mariah out to the store for sassafras. They decide to take advantage of their alone time and start kissing.

Kyle Says Nikki Gets Away With Hurting People

Over at the Newman Ranch, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) answers the door to find Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) there. He is looking for Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), but he is not home. Kyle brings up the disaster at the screening and Nikki fills him in on Dina Mergeron stabbing her before. Kyle snarks that she got off with only a scratch and wishes his mother had been so lucky when she tangled with Nikki. Kyle goes off about how Nikki gets away with hurting people.

Jack Informs The Abbotts He Is Comparing is DNA to Billy

Back over at the Abbott’s, Jack Abbott scares the women by swigging whiskey and lashing out. Kyle Abbott walks in as Jack informs them he is cross-checking his paternity with Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) since they know he is John’s son.

Abby Warns Kyle They Are On To Him

Abby Newman warns Kyle they are onto to him and that Ravi Shapur (Abhi Sinha) informed them of what he had done. Kyle admits to having the edit restored but insists he was not behind the video being switched.

Kyle Denies Switching The Video

Kyle says Jack is not the only one with something to lose if it got out. Abby and Ashley think he may be telling the truth. They rejoin Dina and Jack keeps insulting her. Kyle argues with Jack to show Dina some respect. Jack throws up Kyle’s mother and Kyle lashes, Jack apologizes, but Kyle leaves. Abby goes to try to find Kyle. Traci snaps at Jack and Dina comes back in and briefly she remembers Traci as her daughter and they share a moment. Jack takes his mom aside and apologizes to her and tells her she is the only parent he has and he is not going to take her for granted.

Nikki Interupts Sharon and Nick

Nikki Newman calls Sharon McAvoy from outside Sharon’s front door and she and Nick quickly button up and let her in. Nikki informs them she canceled the garden ceremony and needs Sharon to go over charity stuff and they leave.

Nick Suspicious Walks In On Sharon and Nikki

At the Ranch, Nikki Newman is upset and tells Sharon McAvoy about Nick Newman being dead set on finding J.T. Hellstrom (Thad Luckinbill). Sharon wants to know why all of sudden Nikki is upset and she fills her in on Kyle throwing Diane’s death in her face. Sharon reassures that in both cases she was only acting in self-defense. Nick walks in as Sharon is calming Nikki by telling her she is a good person. Nick wonders what is going on and Sharon covers by saying Nikki is upset because she is missing Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle).

The Ashby’s Celebrate Mother’s Day

Over at the Athletic Club, The Ashby’s are having a Mother’s Day brunch. Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) tells them it’s in the house. They toast to Lily Ashby (Christel Khalil). Hilary Curtis (Mishael Morgan) comes in to inform Devon about Nikki Newman canceling the garden ceremony. Devon is concerned about her stress so he takes her over to see baby Sam. Later, At Hamilton Winters Group, Hilary and Devon work together and talk about Simone’s (Shanica Knowles) departure. Devon lets her know he has no plans to date because it’s just too complicated she says the same for her. Back at the club, Cane Ashby (Daniel Goddard) and the twins list things they love about Lily. Mattie Ashby (Lexie Stevenson) brings up that Sam will not remember his mom. Lily tells Sam she loves him like he is her own. Back up at the office, Hilary and Devon talk about Mother’s Day and how hard it is. Then talk turns to Hilary possibly being pregnant and maybe by this time next year be able to celebrate with her own.

Back over at Sharon’s place, Mariah returns with the sassafras and a superhero mom shirt for Sharon.

Abby Tells Kyle He Has A Friend That Could Have Changed The Video

Then at Crimson Lights. Abby Newman and Kyle Abbott discuss Jack Abbott. Kyle realizes she still thinks he altered the video and insists he did not. Abby points out he has a close relationship with someone that would have done it – her father.
