The Young and the Restless RECAP Friday, June 8: Summer Makes Billy Uncomfortable, Victoria Threatens Victor

“The Young and the Restless” (YR) recap for Friday, June 8, 2018, reveals that over at the Dive Bar Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) teases Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) about catching him in his birthday suit as he is getting out of the pool.

Abby Opens Up to Kyle

Kyle tells her that she can tease him all she wants but sales are great due to him. Abby tells Kyle she has the day off since she is in the doghouse. He points out she will not be spending it with Arturo Rosales (Jason Canela) since she poured a drink over his head.

Abby talks to Kyle about her problems. Kyle asks her if she is done with Arturo and she says if she wasn’t sure before she definitely is now after catching him with Summer Newman (Hunter King).

Arturo Confronts Nikki

Over in the dining room of the Athletic Club, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) and Victoria Newman (Ameila Heinle) are chatting when Arturo Rosales shows up. Victoria leaves. Nikki invites him to join her.

Arturo confronts her about going to Abby Newman. Nikki runs after Arturo and wants to know why he is so upset with her. She claims she didn’t tell because of jealousy, she just thought Abby Newman should know the truth.

Sharon Begs Victor To Stop Custody Battle

Over at Newman Enterprise, Sharon McAvoy (Sharon Case) goes to see Victor Newman (Eric Braeden). She begs Victor to make the arbitration go away before he does damage that can not be undone. Sharon says she knows Victor and tells him the custody battle is beneath him. Victor says his family is slipping through his fingers and he will not let it happen with Christian.

Summers Watches Phyllis and Billy Kiss

Over at Summer Newman’s place, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) warns Phyllis Summers (Gina Tognoni) they are not alone and Summer is still upstairs sleeping as she enters. Phyllis wants her and Billy to go get them a place.

They start kissing and Summer watches from upstairs. Then they decide to just stay there and will reserve a hotel room for the next time they want to get intimate. Phyllis leaves. Summer comes downstairs in her pajamas which Billy thinks is inappropriate and tells her that she is not alone and might want to put some clothes on.

She points out he is only a guest at her house. Billy says she is right about the guest thing but her mom wouldn’t appreciate it. Billy suggests she try to meet her mother halfway and she wonders why she should. Billy says you can do it for me and she agrees to do it for him.

Hilary Tries to Convince Devon to Help Shauna

At Devon Hamilton’s (Bryton James) place, he arrives from a trip and Hilary Curtis (Mishael Morgan) tells him they need to talk but they are interrupted by Shauna Nelson (Camryn Hamm) coming down the stairs. Devon sees her and asks Hilary is that what they need to talk about.

Hilary points out she wanted to talk to Devon in person. Shauna says she will give them some time to talk. Hilary says Shauna’s parents seemed glad to get rid of Shauna and she doesn’t belong to them. Devon points out that maybe her aunt is not as bad as she makes her out to be.

Devon leaves. Shauna realizes that Devon doesn’t want her there. Hilary does not want Shauna out there on her own and thinks Devon will come around. Shauna says she really needs Hilary in her life right now.

Summer Wants to Talk To Phyllis

Over at Jabot, Kyle Abbott greets Billy Abbott and Summer Newman as they arrive. Kyle teases Billy that he hopes Summer wasn’t driving. Then Kyle picks on Summer about being arrested and making bail. Summer points out she doesn’t have the patience for jealous exes.

Phyllis Summers arrives and is shocked to find Summer there. Billy tells Phyllis she is there to talk to her. Summer asks her mom if they could talk and they go into the office. Summer tells Phyllis she knows how they can get back in sync.

Devon Confides in Neil About His House Problems

Over at Hamilton-Winters Group, Devon Hamilton chats with his father Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John) about how Hilary brought Shauna into his home. He knows it will require a commitment from him and he is not ready for that.

Neil points out in 8 or 9 months his life will really be changing. Devon thinks it’s too much to have Shauna there. Neil asks Devon who stepped up for him when he was a teenager and says what is wrong with paying it forward.

Arturo Tries to Apologize to Abby

Back at the Dive Bar, Arturo Rosales arrives and tries to make nice with Abby Newman. Arturo says he takes 100% responsibility for not telling her about Nikki Newman and regrets it. He tells her he wants another shot and she turns him down. Abby gets them drinks but says it doesn’t mean she is reconsidering and wants them to part on good terms.

Summer Apologizes to Victor

At the Athletic Club, Summer Newman meets up with Victor Newman. She apologizes for not being there for him when he was in the hospital fighting for his life. She is happy to see Victor back on his feet and knows nothing keeps him down. He says some still need to learn that.

He brings up her getting arrested and Summer does not want to talk about it. Summer then tells him she asked her mom to buy her a car but part of her punishment was saying no and Victor doesn’t think that’s fair.

Sharon Threatens Nikki to Stop Victor

Sharon Newman and Nikki Newman meet up at Crimson Lights. Sharon tells Nikki that Victor Newman wouldn’t budge about the senseless battle. Nikki does not want them all to be dragged through this. Sharon tells Nikki it is her turn to talk to Victor and she better not fail.

Nikki says there is no changing Victor’s mind. Sharon tells Nikki she needs to stop it and then threatens to tell about J.T. Hellstrom (Thad Luckinbill) if she doesn’t stop Victor.

Devon Gives Shauna a Key to His House

Back at Devon Hamilton’s place, he and Neil Winters show up and he hands Shauna Nelson a key to his place. Hilary Curtis hugs him and thanks him. They toast to Shauna moving in.

Neil says he has got to run. Shauna says she will take the sofa and Hilary points out she needs a bed. Devon says he has ordered two smaller beds so that Hilary and Shauna can share a room.

Victor Buys Summer a Car

Phyllis Summers storms in at Summer Newman’s place and tells Billy Abbott that she is having the clown that took his parking spot towed. Summer says sorry she should have texted them and that the car is hers.

She points out Victor Newman got her a car. Summer says she is leaving and Phyllis tries to talk to her and she walks out. Billy points out they can pick up where they left off now that Summer is gone. They start making out on the couch.

Victoria Warns Victor 

Back at Newman, Victoria Newman arrives at her office to find her father. She wonders why he is there. She points out all she has done for the company and he tells her she made the mistake of teaming up with Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman). She tells Victor he needs to be careful that he can only push his children away so many times before they stop coming back.

After Arturo Rosales leaves Victor Newman walks up on Abby Newman at the Dive Bar. She tells Victor she knows what happened with Nikki Newman and Arturo. And that’s a wrap. Don’t forget to check often with Soap Opera Spy for all your soap needs.
