The Young and the Restless RECAP Friday, June 1: Sharon Reveals Nick’s Plan, Kyle Strips Down

“The Young and the Restless” (YR) recap for Friday, June 1, 2018, reveals that over at Jabot, Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) is happy with the way things are going with Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) being CEO except for him not using her business plans.

Kyle Not Happy, Calls Billy

Billy receives a call from Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) who is not happy about his new marketing strategy. After their call is over Kyle shows up with hashtags written across his stomach and back. Ashley leaves. Kyle questions Billy if he thinks he is going out in public like that. Billy says of course not, take your jeans off.

Sharon Reveals Nick’s Plan

Over at Sharon McAvoy’s (Sharon Case) place, Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) is heading to work when Sharon blurts out that Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) wants to move to San Diego and take the whole family with him. Mariah is confused, so Sharon explains how Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) is trying to play Nick and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) against one another. Mariah says they will be away from each other then, but Sharon invites her to come along.

Phyllis Tries to Cheer Jack Up

Over at Crimson Lights, Phyllis Summers (Gina Tognoni) and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) chat over coffee and she learns he is venturing out. She gives Jack a pep talk, then talk turns to Billy Abbott’s national product launch.

Nikki Tells Abby Her Secret

At the Athletic Club, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) calls Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) out on being with Arturo Rosales (Jason Canela). Abby wants to know what is wrong with two single people being together. Nikki then lets Abby know up until recently her and Arturo had been sleeping together. Abby thinks Nikki is joking, but then realizes she is not. She wants to know if they are over. Nikki tells her they are.

Abby Warns Nikki of Arturo

Abby can’t believe that both she and her dad were both seeing other people. Abby points out that Arturo must have a thing for blondes with an exhibitionist past. Nikki adds big bank accounts as well and tells her to be careful. Mariah Copeland comes in and pulls Nikki aside to fill her in on Nick Newman and Sharon McAvoy’s plans.

Billy and Phyllis Have Some Fun

Back over at Jabot, Billy Abbott gets finished with his phone conversation with Hilary Curtis (Mishael Morgan) about the launch at the Dive Bar. Phyllis Summers lets him know she has to put on her bikini so they decide they can be late and close the blinds.

Jack Jokes with Kyle

Back over at Crimson Lights, Jack Abbott spots Kyle Abbott and some other models with the hashtags written all over their bodies. Jack jokes if Kyle stays at Jabot long enough Billy may let him jump out of Gloria Bardwell’s (Judith Chapman) birthday cake.

Abby Ignores Arturo’s Call

Then back over at the club, Abby Newman updates her mother on the news she just received from Nikki Newman. Kyle Abbott appears and let’s them know the marketing campaign is going viral. Abby thinks it’s cool, though the naked heiress will not join. Abby gets a call from Arturo Rosales in which she ignores.

Ashley Invites Jack to Her Launch

Over at Abbott’s place, Jack Abbott stops by to grab a few things. He makes a remark about Billy Abbott’s promotional stunt and it leads Ashley Abbott to believe he is missing Jabot. She invites him to stay and watch the launch with her.

Kyle Gets into His Birthday Suit

At the Dive Bar, Billy Abbott and Phyllis Summers arrive. Hilary Curtis reminds Mariah Copeland and Kyle Abbott the product is ‘birthday suit by Jabot.’ The show gets underway and Mariah and Hilary start with chatting with Billy. The models appear with free samples. Kyle tells Phyllis it’s boring and they are going to lose viewers. So Kyle inserts himself to demonstrate how Birthday Suit last even after a dip in the pool. When he jumps out he no longer has his swim trunks on. The screen flashes to technical difficulties as Mariah covers him up.

Back over at the Abbott’s, Ashley Abbott feels bad for Billy Abbott as she and Jack Abbott watch. Jack thinks they can fill the void by partnering up to start a new company. Ashley feels he is just using her. Jack hands over his house keys.

Hilary and Devon in Trouble

Back at the Dive Bar, Mariah Copeland makes a joke that they came up with the perfect name Birthday Suit as the show signs off and apologizes. Phyllis Summers reports that they are trending. Hilary Curtis asks Billy how much trouble she and Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) are in.

Sharon Kicks Nikki Out

Back over at Sharon McAvoy’s place, Nikki Newman shows up and demands to know what is behind their plans to move. Nikki assumes it has to do with J.T. Hellstrom (Thad Luckinbill). Sharon gets aggravated at Nikki and pushes her out the door and tells her to talk to Victor Newman to find out what’s going on. And that’s a wrap.
