The Young and the Restless RECAP Friday, August 24: Phyllis Goes To War, Sets Summer Up

“The Young and the Restless” (YR) recap for Friday, August 24, 2018 reveals that over at Neil Winters’ (Kristoff St. John), Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) arrives and finds Nate Hastings (Brooks Darnell) in a handstand.

Nikki Fills Nate In On Victoria

She chats with him about Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle). Nikki makes sure he will keep what she is saying between them before opening up. She then fills him in on the abuse that Victoria endured from J.T. Hellstrom (Thad Luckinbill). Nate thinks she may have PTSD and recommends a therapist. Nikki refuses and wants Nate to help her, but he points out Victoria told him to keep his distance.

Paul Speaks To Victoria About J.T.

At Crimson Lights, Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) has a bag with some stuff for Arturo Rosales (Jason Canela) to take with him on his business trip. Rey (Jordi Vilasuso) enters and Arturo gets Abby out of there. Later, Paul Williams (Doug Davidson) arrives and hands Rey a pen he dropped then goes to speak to Victoria Newman. They chat about J.T. Hellstrom. Victoria is glad he is gone, but Paul thinks it would better if he was behind bars.

Phyllis Slaps Summer

At Summer Newman’s (Hunter King) apartment, Phyllis Summers (Gina Tognoni) confronts her daughter about hoping to get Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) into bed in Philadelphia. Summer finally admits to wanting Billy and everything makes sense now to Phyllis. Summer is not going to give up. They bicker and Summer tells Phyllis it’s her turn to be cheated on and tells her that is what happens to women like her when they get old. P

hyllis smacks Summer across the face. Summer starts packing and says she will get Billy without even telling him about her mom and dad. After Summer is gone Phyllis starts to cry and calls someone for a huge favor.

Abby Learns Rey Is Arturo’s Brother

At the Dive Bar, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) learns from Gloria Bardwell (Judith Chapman) that Billy Abbott is on his way to the airport. In the dining room, Abby Newman notices something is up with Arturo Rosales. Rey appears and Arturo tells him to turn around and go away.

He and Arturo bicker before Rey introduces himself as Arturo’s older brother to Abby. Rey brings up always having to clean up Arturo’s messes. Arturo asks if that is why he is there and he says he is done with him.

At the Abbott mansion, Arturo Rosales doesn’t want to talk about his relationship with his brother to Abby Newman. She pushes, but Arturo kisses her and says goodbye.

Kyle Snoops

At Jabot, Kyle Abbott digs through Billy Abbott’s paperwork and files. He calls Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) to see what he needs to be looking for and continues.

Victoria Furious At Nikki

Over at Newman Enterprises, Victoria Newman is shocked when Nikki Newman walks in with Nate Hastings. Nikki knows Victoria will not be happy but tells her she told Nate about her problems with J.T. Hellstrom. Victoria hollers that she had no right. Nate offers to give her a physical and share some things to relieve stress. She refuses and throws them out.

Billy Text’s Summer

Back at the Dive Bar, Summer Newman updates Kyle Abbott on what happened between she and her mom. He thinks she should fix things with her. He tells her to take his car if she wants it that bad. Summer gets a text and thinks it’s a game changer. The text says that Billy wants her to meet him on the boat.

Back at Jabot, Phyllis Summers closes a laptop in which the text from Summer Newman to Billy Abbott is on the screen and says, “See you, sweetie. Enjoy your cruise.”
