The Young and the Restless Recap Monday, April 23: Victoria Guilt Ridden, Feels It’s Her Fault Victor Was Hurt

“The Young and the Restless” recap for Monday, April 23, 2018, reveals that at the Athletic Club, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) tells her mother Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) that she was not able to sleep again.

Nikki Tells Victoria To Get Over Her Guilt

Nikki advises her that with time it will get better and that she did nothing wrong. Nikki will remind Victoria that she was the one that stopped J.T. Hellstrom (Thad Luckinbill) and wants Victoria to get past the guilt. Victoria and Nikki share a hug then leave.

Nikki and Arturo Hook Up Again

Nikki sees Arturo Rosales (Jason Canela) and joins him where she asks him was he really unavailable last night. Arturo reassures her, and they catch up. Nikki will let Arturo know that Victor knows about him, but not his identity. Then Nikki asks him to join her upstairs. Later they return back downstairs at the club and talk about the situation with J.T. Hellstrom. They also chat about Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and his mistress. Nikki tells Arturo that he deserves more than revenge sex, but he was all for it. He leaves and goes upstairs to shower.

Hilary Tells Devon She Is Pregnant

Hilary Hamilton (Mishael Morgan) arrives at Hamilton-Winters Group wanting to have a chat with Devon Hamilton (Bryton James), who puts her off and takes a conference call. Hilary leaves with her pregnancy test in her pocketbook. Later, she returns and wants to give Devon some news but he is still busy. She puts the pregnancy test on his desk and leaves.

Abby Catches Kyle

Over at Abbott’s place, Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) spots Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) with the charred memory card and demands to knows what he is up to. He wants to know when Dina Mergeron’s (Marla Adams) documentary will be finished and Abby is curious as to why he wants to know. Kyle wants to get to know his grandmother. Abby talks about Dina’s decline being hard to watch. Kyle says Dina is a very entertaining lady and talks about her confusion. Abby tells Kyle the whole family will see the video once Charlie Ashby (Noah Alexander Gerry) finishes editing it.

Victoria Feels Victor’s Injury Is Her Fault

At the therapist’s office, Victoria Newman chats about how she was going to call things off with J.T. Hellstrom and how she let J.T. take her phone while they were in Hawaii, then how she changed her mind about him when he proposed a plan to uproot the family and move away. Dr. Mosley  (Rose Abdoo) asks her if he lost control again in Hawaii. Victoria says she didn’t stick around. Dr. Mosley knows that J.T. tried to kill her father and Victoria says that is why he was acting so desperate. Victoria blames herself and feels if she had broke things off with him sooner it wouldn’t have happened. Victoria leaves very upset.

Reed Loses His Temper With Victor

Reed Hellstrom (Tristan Lake Leabu) goes to the ranch to visit his grandfather and find out what happened to his dad. Victor Newman pushes for a game of chess. Reed wants to make a deal if he wins will Victor answer more of his questions. Victor wins and Reed becomes hostile saying he can handle whatever happened to just tell him. Victor tells Reed that his dad worked for his company under false pretenses. That J.T. wanted to find out if he was involved in any illegal activities and that he wanted him in prison. Reed becomes even more upset and screams to Victor that he is lying when Victor tells him his dad was only with his mother to try to get dirt on him.

Kyle Wants A Job At Newman

Nikki Newman storms in and wants to know what is going on and Reed tells her that Victor is making stuff up to trash his dad. Nikki wants Reed to apologize. Victoria calls and says J.T.’s car is gone but Nikki lets her know that Reed drove it there. Later Nikki and Victor chat about Reed. Victor thinks Reed is tough enough but Nikki doesn’t think so. The conversation turns to Victor’s mistress and Nikki lets Victor know she never wants to play hostess to her again. Kyle Abbott arrives and Victor updates him on Jack Abbott’s (Peter Bergman) visit. Kyle wants a job at Newman but Victor wants him to keep spying at Jabot. Kyle reveals to him that Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) and Abby Newman are keeping a secret about Dina Mergeron. Victor informs him that his grandmother is off-limits.

Devon Accuses Hilary Of Pretending To Be Pregnant

At the bar of the club, Devon Hamilton accuses Hilary of trying to get back at him for calling off their agreement. He wonders if Hilary would make up being pregnant. She explains how soon you can take a pregnancy test and Devon realizes she is serious. She smiles and tells him he is going to be a baby daddy. Hilary is upset that Devon does not seem thrilled. Hilary tells him she does not need him and invites him to tear up the contract. Simone (Shanica Knowles) is brought up and Hilary predicts she will not react well. Devon tells Hilary to keep him informed. Nearby, Arturo Rosales spots Abby Newman and joins her for dessert. She comments on his physique and he replies he does all his cardio the old-fashioned way.

Reed Wants His Father Back

Nikki takes Reed home and Victoria sends him upstairs and wants him to think about how reckless he’s been. Nikki tells Victoria that Reed is going through a terrible time and Victoria asks what they are going to do about it. Nikki advises her that they will get through it. After, Victoria talks to Reed and tells him that his dad did want to be a family again, but he had a lot of anger built up. Reed thinks it’s not too late since Victor is going to be okay and that his dad could come back and get probation. Victoria says it’s not going to happen. Reed says she is talking like he is never coming back and he gets upset Victoria doesn’t reply and they embrace.

Nikki Sees Abby and Arturo Together

Back at the club, Abby Newman, and Arturo Rosales discuss his work at Rainbow Gardens. Abby asks him how Nikki treats him and Arturo reveals that they are both very happy with their terms.
