The Young and the Restless has been jam-packed this year with various stories, so here are few that could have been the worst of the worst. Which one do you feel was the worst storyline of the year? Please vote and let us know what you think.
Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) admits that she killed Adam Newman (then-Justin Hartley), knocks out Chelsea Newman (Melissa Claire Egan), escapes town and manages to fake her own death to evade facing the consequences of her actions. It was great that she finally admitted what she had done, but Y&R fans were thoroughly disappointed that there was no resolution; she never had to face everyone and never punished for killing such a beloved character!

Although Dylan McAvoy (Steve Burton) was only in Genoa City for just over 3 years, he was the son of two prominent characters – Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) and Paul Williams (Doug Davidson). So when he literally left the show into Witness Protection with a hooker by his side, viewers were left hanging. It must have been one of the worst send-offs any character has ever had!
Y&R’s Nikki and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) have a very passionate relationship; they can love and hate each other at the same time. While it was very amusing to hear that Nikki stole a fortune from Victor, it was disheartening to see how quickly she gave into his demands and moved back into the range and renewed her wedding vows to him. Can these two really have their happily ever after?
Viewers of the CBS soap opera can bet that Cane Ashby (Daniel Goddard is probably betting he never set foot on that flight to Hong Kong, or laid eyes on Juliet Helton (Laur Allen). It is clear she took advantage of him when he was drunk and ended up pregnant. Unfortunately for her, that pregnancy ultimately led to her death and to him being a single father. What do you hate more about this story, the fact that Cane cheated on Lily or the fact that he is now raising a baby with Hilary more by his side than his own wife?
Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) has not always been a saint, but has quite often been a thorn in his father, Victor’s side. 2017 hasn’t been much different as the Newman men continue to butt heads. Nick did something drastic, as he literally gave all his money away much to the chagrin of his ex-wives, Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) and Phyllis Summers (Gina Tognoni). Was it a smart move, or impulsive on Nick’s part?
How about Zack Sinnett (Ryan Ashton) using Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway), by creating that dummy corporation as a front for his sex trafficking ring? This storyline brought in new characters like Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) to the forefront, and brought back Alice Johnson (Tamara Clatterbuck), who was Cassie’s adopted mother, from the past. The story was brutal to watch and many were grateful when it ended; too bad it had to end with Abby having sex with Scott Grainger (Daniel Hall) while they were held captive in a storage locker.

Remember when Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) had brought Benjamin Hochman (Ben Hermes) to a room at the GCAC; and seduced him? She acted out of sorts and impulsively, unlike the Victoria Y&R fans know and love. It was clear something was wrong and “off” about Victoria, she was out of character and suffering bad headaches and even fainting. Miraculously, after a terrible accident, she is cured and now running the Newman Enterprises empire. How does that work?
