The Young and the Restless (Y&R) alum Michael Graziadei has been missed as Daniel Romalatti over the past five years. He’s only appeared a few times since his exit in 2013. Many Y&R fans have hoped he would return to the show, or at the very least, pop in from time to time.
New Gig For Graziadei
Michael landed a recurring role on HBO’s True Detective. Deadline reported that Graziadei would play Dan O’Brien. HBO hasn’t revealed any other information on the character. The only thing known is that Michael will appear on multiple episodes for Season 3.
Graziadei most recently appeared on Amazon’s Good Girls Revolt. He was a series regular in Lifetime’s The Lottery. Michael also appeared in American Horror Story (Season 1) and Kingdom. He’s best known for his role on The Young and the Restless, which he played 2004 to 2013.
No Y&R Return In Sight
With the new gig, it’s unlikely that Michael would come back to The Young and the Restless. He briefly returned in 2016, only to leave after a two-day stint. The actor keeps busy and doesn’t have time to come back to Y&R.

Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) briefly noted that Daniel has a great life away from Genoa City, but it would be nice for him to come to see her from time to time. Most Y&R fans agree they would love to see Daniel pop in for a visit, at least once a year.
