The Young And The Restless News: Eileen Davidson Confirms Y&R Exit – Read Her Goodbye Message

The Young and the Restless comings and goings revealed that Eileen Davidson is leaving Y&R, after several decades as Ashley Abbott.

The popular actress took to Twitter and confirmed the shocking casting news and announced that she is indeed leaving the CBS soap opera in September.

Eileen was pretty vague about her decision to leave the soap and just stated it was “time for a little more control for her day to day.”  That statement certainly puzzled her followers, it sounds like the actress is just ready for a change of pace.

Davidson wrote, “Yes I am leaving my second home @YandR_CBS in September. I’ve been so blessed to be able to play Ashley Abbott and work with the amazing people on the show and have nothing but gratitude and love for all!!! Time for a little more control over my day to day!.”

News also broke that Eileen was NOT returning to her role on Days of Our Lives, and soap star Stacy Haiduk had taken over for her as Kristen DiMera.  Davidson did not address those reports.
