The Young and the Restless comings and goings say that viewers will soon be saying goodbye to Chelsea Lawson. Melissa joined the show back in 2011 but is leaving her role to pursue other opportunities in the entertainment industry instead.
Melissa shared a message on her Instagram account that read, “After much thought and six wonderful years, I have decided to leave The Young and the Restless. I love this show (and this genre) so very much, and am so grateful to this amazing crew and cast, especially my beyond wonderful Josh Morrow. This cast, crew, and everyone behind the scenes at Sony and CBS is truly the best at what they do and are my family.”
The brunette beauty also didn’t forget to mention those that matter the most in her life and her career: her fans and especially those who have stood by her side throughout the years. She added, “To you, incredibly fans, thank you for everything. This isn’t goodbye. Truly. Just good-bye for now.”
Of course, it didn’t take very long for her fans to respond to her post. A few posted comments such as, “I will miss you on the show Missy, but I will follow your career wherever it may take you!! Looking forward to seeing where your ventures take you on screen!!” along with, “Very sad to see you leave Young and restless. I have loved seeing your character grow but I wish you well in whatever you do. Hope to see you on the big screen.”
