The Young and The Restless Comings and Goings: Alice Hunter Joins Y&R – Stirs Up Trouble At Jabot

The Young and the Restless has a new star in Genoa City and from what we can tell already, she’s beautiful, she’s intelligent, and she might even be a little ruthless. In other words, she’s a perfect fit for the show! Her name is Kerry Jones, and she’s Jabot’s newest employee.

Played by actress Alice Hunter, she admits that this is a dream job for her. That’s because she’s been a fan of daytime television for as long as she can remember.

She told Soaps in Depth in an interview, “I lived in England for nine years, then we immigrated to Brisbane, Australia, and I grew up watching soaps my entire life. There was Coronation Street and EastEnders, plus Home and Away and Neighbors in Australia and their theme songs still play in my head.”

And now one decade and so many different roles later, Alice finally has the dream job she’s always wanted: a spot on The Young and the Restless.

She added, “This was one of 15 auditions over two busy weeks. On one of those days, my agency said, ‘Oh you’re testing for the Young and the Restless tomorrow,’ and I said, ‘No way!’ Of all the jobs I was trying out for, this was the one I wanted. I’ve been on Comedy Central, Showtime, and all over cable but I’ve surprisingly never done a soap.”
