The Young and the Restless comings and goings indicate that there is a bit of a cast shake up in Genoa City this week.
Jaime Lyn Bauer
One half of the soap’s most famous super power couple is coming back! Original cast member Jaime Lyn Bauer, who everyone knows best as Lauralee Brookes, is coming back to reprise her role. She’ll be back on the show just in time for the conjunction of The Young and the Restless’ 45th anniversary. The episode will air on March 26.

Meg Bennett
Jaime isn’t the only veteran actress to come back to celebrate the soap’s anniversary. Meg Bennett, who played Julia Newman, will also be returning. She was on the show from 1980 to 1984 but returned both in 1986 and in 2002. Since leaving The Young and the Restless, she has been a writer for a handful of other soaps, including the Bold and the Beautiful, General Hospital, Santa Barbara and Sunset Beach.
Melissa Ordway and Marla Adams
Both actresses return to Genoa City March 8. Melissa returns from maternity leave. Marla’s character Dina was in Paris which explained Abby’s (Melissa) maternity leave departure.
Michael Mealor
Michael has been cast as the new Kyle Abbott. Except to see him hit Genoa City the week of March 26.
Robert Adamson
Meanwhile, executive producers of The Young and the Restless were recently forced to explain Robert Adamson’s exit from the show. They insist that the door will remain wide open for Robert’s return, but for now they are looking to start things off fresh with a new face for his character, Noah Newman.
Robert, meanwhile, doesn’t seem to be shedding many tears over the loss, as he will be working on several new projects he has in the pipeline. He recently tweeted to his fans, I want to say Thank You for all the support I’ve received over more than 5 years portraying Noah Newman. The cast and crew truly became my family. I will personally be back anytime they wish, schedule permitting.”
