The Young and The Restless Alum Lands An Exciting New Role

We’ve got exciting news about a former The Young and the Restless star who has made the transition from daytime television to primetime. Fans will be thrilled to find out that actress Alicia Coppola has just joined the cast of the highly acclaimed drama, Empire. Alicia is best remembered for her role as Dr. Meredith Gates in Genoa City.

Y&R News – Alicia’s New Empire Character

According to Deadline, Alicia has joined the cast along with actress Tammi Mac. The brunette beauty will be playing a smart, flamboyant attorney who is investigating Lucious Lyon (Terrence Howard).

And it looks like Alicia’s character is bringing on the fireworks and in a big way, too. Deadline puts it this way, “She’ll do almost anything for big target convictions because she believes they’ll take her to the Governor’s mansion and then the White House.”

Empire, created by Lee Daniels and Danny Strong and starring Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson, hail from Imagine Television and 20th Century Fox TV. Although ratings have slightly gone down during Season 3, it is still a drama that is on everyone’s radar, thanks to its all-star cast.

And while it doesn’t look like Alicia will be returning to her The Young and the Restless roots anytime soon, it’s without a doubt that fans can’t wait to see her on Empire. She will definitely shine in her new role. Empire airs Wednesdays on the Fox Network at 8 pm.
